NEW Magnaflow exhaust in stock at MP for SS !! (Pics installed !)

NEW! Magnaflow exhaust for the Cobalt SS

Full 2.5 inch exhaust, weighs a total of 3 lbs less than the factory exhaust.

Magnaflow claims 7 hp and 13 lbs of torque is gained with this exhaust on their website.

We feel that its good for a few hp and few lbs of torque, but most importantly it gives a nice deep tone and makes the car more fun to drive !

Its American made, full stainless steel and comes with a lifetime warranty from Magnaflow !

$459.99 plus $21 shipping, and its IN stock at MP ready to ship. Give us a call, we will ship one out to you immediately !! 1-877-247-6366 toll free !

PS- Ill have videos of the car up later so you can hear the tone !!

I loved the intake I bought from you , I am unsure about this exhaust. I am kind of dissappointed it's not on 3" piping. Of course, I couldn't wait and made my own custom exhaust system with a magnaflow muffler for $300 with a new muffler, two resonators & 3" mandrel bent piping.

That appears to be an oval exhaust correct? Is this the kit magnaflow made specfically for the SS that I see on there web page? They were wanting like $800 something for it at the time last week.

No it does not have any raspiness, or nasty sounds to it whatsoever.
Its fairly similar in design to the factory system, it has a muffler on the rear, and a HUGE perforated core, straight through resonator. This type of design will help eliminate all nasty popping, and high pitch whiny noises.

It is a oval cannister muffler, yes. This is the exhaust that Magnaflow made specifically for the SS, and is listed on their website, yes.

These clips have been up on Magnaflow's site for months so who knows how accurate they are but should hold you over until they get a chance to get the video up:

looks pretty good , im guessing its not gonna be very ricey sounding due to the length of the resonator

and 2 1/2" is a good street system , GM didnt even use 3" on the street tunerz cobalt , they used 2 1/2"

3" would be ok for track use , when your wide open the whole time

2.5" is big enough S/C or not 3" is overkill.

I actually like the Magnaflow system, I am glad they used a Oval muffler I hope other companies follow. The days of the overpriced fart can muffled AA exhaust is over!

2,5" is good enough for 300 BHP (255 WHP) and a bit more.

I am interested in the sound clip too. This is the only exhaust that I have heard that I like. Clean , but when needed aggressive sounding. Will just buying the magnaflow muffler used on this catback sound the same and perform the same?

300 bhp should equal about 265-270 whp w/ 13% drivetrain loss.

I think I may actually go with this system. Then, if I need more flow on the top end later on I'll just weld on an electric exhaust cutout after the down-pipe.

from what i could tell the ss/sc and the ss 2.4 share the same cat back

also from what i could tell is the 2.2 looks the same , just different muffler and tip , and a shorter resonator , and alot smaller piping

we had a 2.2 cobalt on our lift doing the exhaust , and header for it last week , and i looked at my friends ss/sc saturday night , and the flange looks to be in the same exact spot , and both are a 2 bolt flange

Bulldog 13% is not high for a FWD car, for example, an Acura RSX is about 16 %.

really nice gains, i seem to recall some people saying they gained 10whp just from swapping out the muffler tho? is a whole exhaust system worth it if the most restrictive piece is the muffler?
