New owner of 07 SC

Hey guys sold my 06 Non-Supercharged coupe and thought I was going to go with something totally different, then I found a 07 Ultra Silver SC, with 6,000 miles, threw out a number and the dealer accepted $15,700 for it.. so Question is, what are people making HP wise with the Stage 2 kit, intake and header? Please post up and let me know.

Thanks
Brian

with those mods and a good downpipe and catback, you should be looking at a solid 260whp

Wow, just tryin to introduce myself as a new member that is probably going to become a enthusiast, and wanted to hear straight from you guys that have been doing this for a while.
I am used to dealing with LSX Motors, and could tell you pretty much anything you would want to know... but i dont know **** yet about these little four cylinders and how they respond to mods.

well anyways whats up everyone and if you want to share your setups and results, thats cool if not I look forward to talking to you

Brian

Aye, keep in mind to at least do a cursory search from now on and you'll be golden, you don't sound like an idiot, so you should be fine.

People on this forum seem to love to make post about search buttons. Would be nice if a new guy could just post a question without hearing about it 50 times.

Anyways, with a perfect tune, stage II and the right supporting mods I personally feel a LSJ can make 270-280whp. I'm talking about after a better clutch, flywheel, cooling mods. Take a look at my mods in my sig, my set up with a custom tune should be at least 270-280 whp. There is a few tricks to the trade when it comes to an extra 10whp running royal purple tranny, and engine fluids. Also a good adative to the coolant is royal purple ice. I honestly noticed a difference after changing to all Royal Purple products. Mainly with my tranny being smooth as butter.

Common Problems With Cobalt SS/SC

1. Breaking axles on hard launches at the track. Soultion: Drive Shop Stage II Axles

2. Cracked Tranny Case (This is most common with people using slicks, DR's and stiff mounts) Soultion: Upgraded Racing Tranny = very expensive

3. Wheel Hop (For those who don't know how to drive.) Soultion: Stiff Mounts

4. Heat Soak from supercharger Soultion: Royal Purple Ice Addative, Bigger Heat Exhanger, GM Dual Pass intercooler End Plate & Kit, No pulley smaller then a 2.8 inch, Small port, and polished Supercharger, Meth injection

I'm I missing anything guys?

search button

I usually do use the search button, but just wanted to put myself out there and interact a little
with you guys that like modding your vehicles and like doing it yourself. I know usually people like to talk about ther results

I see you are using the Bigstuff3 in your TA. Does it actually allow stock functionality for the rest of the car?
If that is the case, how hard was it to get the Bigstuff to play nice with the oem PCM/BCM's?

yes, it is easy to install, basically what you are doing is disconnecting the injectors and Coil from the stock pcm, the bigstuff will blug into them to control your fuel and spark, you will also disconnect your cam and crank sensors, and take your signal wires from the stock computer for both of those sensors and tap it into your bigstuff... that will let your stock gauges function as normal... your stock computer will run everything else besides the main motor functions.

Any other questions let me know
Brian

That encouraging.
So the pcm doesn't "freak out" when you disconnect those items??
I already have my Bigstuff but the shops can't agree on whether or not it will work.
Don't be surprised if I need to ask more questions, which I will do in PM's.
