New SS/SC Question

I purchased my Cobalt in January and put it in storage until last Friday (04/07/06). It now has 115 mile on it. I just picked up my Stage 2 kit today (04/10/06) form the dealer. It is scheduled to be installed on Thursday (04/13/2006). Do you guys think that it might be too soon to install something like this with only 115 miles on the car? Never modified let a lone owned a car like this before. Thanks for you thoughts.

Rob

Just do the proper break in techniques....no going past 3000 rpm, no full throttle runs, change the oil after the first 500-750 miles....After 500-750 miles she should be broken in, then you can start beating on her, but when you do, do it gradually, don't baby it up to 500 and then next day put it to the floor. Do some "aggressive" runs first.

according to the manual, they strongly recommend avoiding stressful driving, and high revving before you hit the 500 mile mark...me personally i dont think it will really hurt it cus i slammed my car pretty hard for the first 500 miles, but if you wana do it by the books thats what it says

The good book says it all: for the first 500 miles, no hard launches, no engine breaking, no carrying the same speed for long periods, and no exceeding 5,000 RPM.

As far as stage II, I can't see it really hurting the break-in procedure. Just follow the above guidlines (except for engine breaking, because that is supposed to set your piston rings) and you should be OK. Personally, I woul put in on after, just to be sure that you are not going to have any problems with breaking it in. But it probably doesn't matter. Maybe you should call your dealer and see what they say?

You Should Break It A Little Before The Stage Kit Is On. Go To The Track , Do Some Drag Or Something!

when I first got my car i drove it hard one or two times, just to see how much faster it was than previous cars iv driven. Then I drove like a grandpa up to 900 miles, changed the oil and now its perfect. I heard from many people the motors are pretty much broken in from the factory and breaking them in just increases life after thousands and thousands of miles.
