Not sure if correct forum, but does anyone know if the new Interceptor Gauge style shows all the same readings as the old style. I guess the old style had some sort of "SS" screen upon start-up. The new gauge shows other car emblems if you enter the car model somehow (such as GTO maybe??)... I just wondered if it still displays all the same stuff. I think the gauge maybe displayed a few more readings on the Cobalt than it showed on other types of cars??..These gauges look awesome and I can't wait to get one....just want to make sure it is the one I need before I spend my money.....thanks..

 

has anyone purchased the new "GM generic" style gauges?? Did the old gauge measure EGT's???.thanks for any responses....

I have the SS gauge, and no they don't do EGTs.

 

the "new" gauge u speak of is actually kinda old..its a universal interceptor gauge so it has the different styles all in one..u can still select the SS option in the menu so when it turns on it says SS and it reads all the same things..and no..it doesnt read egts

threy dont do egt's but you could hook up and external probe to it.

the new gauge has a bunch for functions it displays. you can still set it to say ss too or some other logos, i havent looked i just set mine to ss right away.

my buddy has the old stylke and there were somethings his didnt show that mine did, i just dont remember them off the top of my head

 

it doesnt have the led's to tell u when a level is out of its range that u give for it

 

oh im not sure if you can set up the warning lights or not with the external add-ons. if you cant that sucks but just keep and eye on it, i always look at mine to double check whats going on

i mean i have my warning lights set up for my iat2 and my knock, i just dont know if there is anyway to set them for the external 5v inputs

 

i ment the older style doesnt have it

Yuppers...read about that one..just wondered if it was worthwhile to track down the gauge with the "SS" and the "shift lights"....guess I will be ordering the newest one available, the "GM generic"......

and to Raven SS....I have been reading about your son, and your car projects....I hope you see some good news on both topics.....when I found out my wife was pregnant with the "quads' I was pretty scared about what would happen to her and the babies...maybe not exactly like your situation....but I know life can really kick you in the ass sometimes...good and bad....I hope you have some decent friends to help YOU out in the rough times......thanks guys....
