New ZZP install - fitment concerns?
New ZZP install - fitment concerns?
I just got my zzp mid-length header and downpipe combo in the mail, went to install it and everything was ok until I went to put on the new header - I CANNOT get one nut tightened. The driver side top nut is somewhat tight on the stud but I cannot get a socket or wrench down to it because of the rubber hose in the way. I got it as tight as I could but could not get it snug with the ratchet.
Does this one nut pose any problems even though the rest are on there tight? It's not loose by any means... I'm guessing I'll hear a leak if it needs to be tightened?
Also, on the downpipe, just as others have had problems - the O2 sensor won't reach. I had them weld a new bung for my wideband (that I don't have yet) so I put my stock one in the wideband hole FOR NOW. I plugged the stock hole until I can extend the O2 wires. Is there any problem with how I have this rigged now? I figure I might throw a code but once I get everything the way it needs to be I can clear it and everything will be fine...
Any input is appreciated.
BTW my exhaust sounds bad, I hate it... it sounds farty at idle, like a soft farty... (Only from the side, such as in next to the drivers side door, the back sounds amazing) It did this even before the header install, it just is louder now. Is this a leak that is causing this? I have always heard that leaks are more like whistling noises, but I know for a fact that my corsa did leak (black around every clamp) before I retightened it, yet I heard no whistle. I plan on getting it welded at the clamps, but now with a somewhat poor fitment of the downpipe to catback, I'm worried about a leak now there as well.
Thanks

Well I just got the down pipe with a cat to bolt to 2.5" for my gmpp exhaust. But with just the downpipe, no manifold, it doesn't idle different at all. Maybe a little louder, but I think it sounds good. Driving I honestly think it sounds the same. Maybe again, a little louder. I know when I down shift now the crack and pop that was there is gone. It just feels like it drives much smoother now that th exhaust is moving more freely. Sorry I didn't really answer your question I don't know how the Corsa sounds.
Oh and it fit 100% perfect. I don't think it could have been better. It is kinda weird the cat is on an angle now but I guess that is how it had to be. I am very pleased with it. I only put about 80 miles on it so far. I am gonna let it break in a lil bit before I open it up to see how it really sounds in the high rpms.

1. Couldn't you just move the hose and tighten it down?
2. The exhaust sounds bad? What did you expect? It's a 4cyl and you have to live with it. The gains from the header/dp more then makeup for the sound.
Well I knew it would turn into this... I know it is a 4cyl and I know very well what to expect, to an extent but I really am leaning towards the fact that I have a leak. Like I said, I like the sound if I'm standing at the exhaust pipe but it sounds like something isn't right UNDER the car...
The fitting that the hose attaches to extends out about 2 inches, so even if I remove the hose, it doesn't free any more room than I had. The only option I can think of now is try getting locking pliers on it to tighten it a little more.
And yes the car does feel tons smoother, even after already having a catback, the header and downpipe make a huge difference
EDIT
Well after moving the car a little, and driving around at times it pops repeatedly... I guess its leaking? The fun is about to begin I guess - nothing on this car ever goes right
