The cat looks kinda like a small coffee can, its ahead of the last o2 sensor. The resonator is the long glass pack lookin tube in the very middle of the exhaust.

Resonator really doesn't add a restriction. It functions similar to the old glass pack. Simply a hollow tube with holes and sound deadening material to the sides. Doesn't restrict airflow. The cat does however. To remove it is up to you. Some states require it to be on to pass state inspection, so I would look into that a bit. You could always add a high flow cat, a few vendors here are selling them.

Don't forget the possibility of a reoccuring CEL if you remove the cat.
