unless you are pushing about 400whp, you do not need 2 step colder either.
tell that to my afrs that went from an 11.8-10.6 in three months on 100% meth

John I got a quick question, you go to colder heat ranges to reduce spark blow-out from increased boost pressures correct? So since I will be dropping to a 2.7 but with a ported head, I will have less boost pressure. Should I stay in the one step colder heat range that Im in right now?

I never said every oil change. I referenced possibly every other oil change, mainly in reference to pulling and at least checking them.

I'd rather just switch to iridium and lose the concerns of doing such.

I have been running the BKR7E lately and typically change them out every other oil change (every 12 - 14K miles). When I change them I check them out and by that time the gap has usually opened up about .003 - .004 so they are definitely due at that time. I usually gap my plugs to about ~.037. I ran Iridiums before, but when I switched to a smaller than 3.0 inch pulley the Iridium gap had to be closed alot more so I swapped to copper plugs so I could keep a wider gap.

idk. maybe you just go through alot more meth than i do.

But i have been checking the plugs at the oil change intervals. they are perfect. My AFR's are always spot-on.

I purchased the ottp kit a while back and it came with the NGK 1 Step Colder Plugs. Can i upgrade to the two step colder with out a tune? Is it worth it? Last where should I buy them from, because autozone and advanced auto dont carry them?

I wouldn't recommend going to two step colder plugs unless the car is strickly a race car, or you are running TVS or a 2.7 or smaller pulley with a very aggressive tune.

Running a spark plug that is too cold will hurt performance just as bad as running a plug that is too hot.

Also, BKR8E are hard to find. you really have to hunt around to find them. Most people that go with a 2 step colder plug usually go with the BKR8EIX which is the Iridium two steps colder and is easier to find.

I had to buy mine from a local import specialist place, Bap Geon LOL.

They had them in stock, the iridiums I'm unsure of.
