A noise when the car is shut off

As soon as I shut my car off when I have just driven it for a bit, I get out and I hear a sound like if the metal got too hot and starts to clink like if it was stretching or something. I wanted to know if any of u have this noise. Thanks

it's because you decide to cut the muffler off.. the hot metal is cooler off....

All this read you did on the site before you got the car really has not paid off for you...

On a related note, what's that clicking noise that goes on for like 5 min once you shut off the car if you drove it for a bit? I see that this is the LSJ section but I would assume your motors do it too.

Mine does it as well. I'm not sure what it is.

Everyone thinks there is something wrong with my car.

Yeah I thought so too. It's not because of the muffler cut out because it did it before. But I am putting muffler back so no problem with that lol. GM won't notice if it was off or back on right??? Or they wouldn't care right???

I was about 86.42% sure it was the exhaust cooling anyways.

I dunno if about yall but if I drive normal it usually doesn't do it. When I drive spirited it will do it, or if I stomp it alot it does it even louder. I guess that would make sense though because the more I'm punching it the hotter the exhaust is getting.

I have the same sound and I'm pretty sure it's just the exhaust as well.

BUT I have another sound that sounds exactly like someone knocking on the back of the car and it freaks me the hell out. Only happened 2 or 3 times, but one of the times my gf was in the car (and it was like 2am) and it scared the **** out of her lol. Can't figure out what it is.

I belive it is something with the EVAP solenoid. Happens to most lsj's, including mine. Most call it the trunk monkey lol

Someone could break into my car and I would just think it was the trunk monkey cause I'm so used to it! Scared me at first when i got my car, but after 2 years i barely notice it
