noob question need help

Ok, couple things Im asking a question for help, if your gunna come on here and tell me im an idiot and make fun of me Leave me alone. You can help me quicker by just answering the following.

Ok 1.) Stage kit 2 whats a "reflash" and when you install it, along with any other type of pulley do you need to ajust things like the ecu or the timeing or something complicated along those lines?

and 2.) what size pulley is better smaller or larger, i forgot what the cobalt has stock.

Edit:: and when you change the clutch to maybe a drag clutch or something less street friendly like the ones you see at www.gravanatuning.com do they require timing and such as asked in question 1? i do not have a car and not alot of experience but plan on going to school for diesel/truck repair in the near future when i graduate high school. So if you could help, i would much appriciate it (spelling ignore please)
Thanks for your time.

dont mind some of the people on here. now for your questions:

1> the GM stage kit 1 comes with injectors and a computer reflash. the computer reflash is basically a tune for the new fuel coming into the engine. GM Stage kit 2 uses the same reflash as 1. All the timing adjustments and such are done thru this reflash.

2>a smaller pulley is going to give you more boost. more boost = more power. the stock cobalt pulley is a 3.4". GM stage kit 2 comes with a 3". the stock pulley boosts at 12.5psi whereas the 3" pulley boosts at 17psi (i think its 17)

#1 A reflash is a process of changing the programming inside your computer. The reflash they are talking about is by GM themselves. They have a programming ready for a stage 2 upgrade which involves a pulley upgrade and new injectors...because of this, they need to reprogram the computer to idle better with bigger injectors (keep it from flooding the motor) and to spray accordingly to boost properly...basically give the right amount of fuel to air mixture. Also, the programming might change the ignition timing as well...not fully sure about that.

How GM does it is by plugging into your computer physically and they have a special type of computer that will upload the new information onto your PCM.

#2 The smaller the pulley, the more PSI

The clutch issue...it should be a direct swap.

the hydraulic clutch in the cobalt adjusts itself so i'd imagine that any aftermarket clutch such as clutchmasters will do the same so no since it is your drivetrain you won't have to tune the computer.
