noob question on a stage 1

so i was just on zzp. and i can get a 2.9 pulley and stage2 belt for 110.00. now my question is can i just install that and i would see a gain. i wanted to get injectors but cant afford it now. also i heard that i would need a tune if i did this stage kit. so what im asking is can i run the 2.9 pulley and the belt and see gains. or would i need the injectors and tune, to make it run.

You don't NEED the tune to make the car run, but you will gain power from the tune and your car will be exact and safe. You won't really gain much power going with the 2.9 and a smaller pulley with a stock tune. Also the 2.9 will run your injectors beyond static since your not on the 42lbers.

I highly recommend saving your money and buying the ottp stage 1 kit. It comes with EVERYTHING you need. Running the 2.9 on stock injectors without a tune is VERY dangerous.

Get gm stage 2. You can still have a warranty and its safer.

that is the gm stage 2 kit, it will come with a card and when you install the kit you tow the car to gm (or just drive the car there and have them install the kit) they will flash the pcm with the gm stage 2 reflash.

yo just get zzp stage 2... save your money... my zzp stage 2 creeps away from gm stage 2's and i hang with ottp's stage ALLL DAY. and zzp is cheaper... its not always about what is offered... every tune puts out different numbers. and a run with my zzp stage 2 against the ottp... we did it from a roll... ummm yea we stayed next to each other throughout the power bands. also im on stock exhaust and air box mod... he had full exhaust, and cai + ottp staged... and with zzp u can have 50% 1st gear boost reduction which is BEAUTIFUL!!! and they alter torque management they dont just remove it as ottp does. thats if ur into autocrossing... im not subscribing to this thread and im not trying to trash talk. we all have our own companies we like. im giving my opinion zzp does a cobalt good

thanks ALL DAY. i didnt even now zzp made a staged kit ill check it....so the boost reduction would be pretty sweet but its relly ment for launching your car right? and i rely dont understand torque mangment.....but thanks for all this info guys

did zzp tune ur car or how did that work with tuning, im looking now and im guessing u would buy the pulley & hub, injectors( wich one are u running 42 or 60)injector harnes, with the 42 i heard u can use ur stock harness.belt or oversized tensior, i think thats it?

im running 42lb. and u can use the stock harness but buy it with the harness just in case in the future u want to go bigger... u dont need to buy it. i bought there stage kit piece by piece because money was low... i bought 3.1 modular pulley with hub, put that on and ran it for a month but never went WOT. than i bought the injectors and harness on a group buy and the pcm... installed it... and yea now i beat gm stage 2 and hang with ottp's and still on stock exhaust and just air box mod... gotta love being a sleeper

ok so i bought some parts, i got the 2.9 pulley and hub, injector harness, staged belt. my question is, i was reading that if u buy a small pulley the belt might not be tight even with the belt. so i wanted to now is this true or what. my plans when i get money is to buy 60 lb injectors, ngk plugs, zzp lsj pcm, then a nice intake ( i have an autozone on in). so would this be a good set up or what?

ZZP Stage 2 - Your choice of a 3.1" or 3.0" Pulley, It comes with 39lb injectors and an option to upgrade to 42's. Their car on the 3.0" pulley made 238 whp.

OTTP Stage 1 - 2.8" Pulley, 60lb injectors (You will never need to upgrade these injectors if you ever decide to drop pulleys further or go tvs until you start reaching on the smaller tvs pulleys.) Ebristol over on RLF made around 255whp or so with his OTT Stage 1 Kit.

If you're beating OTTP Stage 1 Cars on just a ZZP Stage 2 Kit.. Something is wrong with their car.. No offense.. Just my opinion.

The Stage 1 kit from ottp is one of the best buys and bang for the buck out there..

OTT Stage 1 kit. If you don't have the money then just wait for a while.

I did research for about a month between OTT and GMS2... I still have my warrenty. GET THE OTT... much worth it, its cheaper, its better, its more realible, and much higher quality parts than GMs2, and you get much better fuel econ. Trust me. Oh and GMS2 has had motors blown, and OTT has not... other vendors can say that
