Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got off the phone with todd at intense, pistons are out of stock i missed the last set they sold them last week.... Now I have to wait a week or two to get them.... oh well more time for the cobalt to rot, and me to bum rides to work!
And lightning motorsports hasnt shipped my head studs.!!!!! i ordered 7 days ago

Did you tell Lightning Motorsports you needed the studs like yesterday and asked if they had them in stock? They had them direct shipped from Golden Eagle in Cali and I had them in 3-4 days here on the East coast..
Sorry to hear about the pistons man. Why can't any freaking piston companies make the stock 9.5:1 comp ratio pistons? It's not like it's rocket science or anything considering they make all sorts of other ratios!

Less compression allows you to run more boost without having to go into extremely high octanes to meet the power numbers you are looking for. A higher compression piston will give you more N/A power requiring less boost to meet the power numbers you are looking for, however they higher the compression in addition to boost equals a better chance of detonation = needing race gas for the most part. I'm sure there is more, but that's it in a nutshell from what I understand. I wouldn't rock anything higher than the stock 9.5:1 ratio our cars have stock when adding boost.
bdwarr6, you're not the community *******. I still have you beat on that one. Remember I'm on my second engine, 3rd revsion of the CM FX300 clutch, and blew the headgasket on engine number two. I have also managed to snap an axle on top of all that.
Seriously, get a 10:1 compression piston at the most. I think you'll be stretching your limits there with a 10.5:1.

im in the same boat dude, i bum a ride off a different person every day
i seriously cant stop laughing we are in teh same boat lol
I wouldnt be going up in compression at all , especially with the boost levels your running . Since you have some down time , I would call Diamond and ask about a piston that would retain stock compression or a 1/2 point under . Just because companies advertise off-shelf pistons doesnt mean they dont have other options available to you . At 10.5:1 , the 1 point increase in compression is gonna make the car feel better out of boost , but under boost it may be slower with the amount of timing your gonna have to pull out of whats in there now ......hope ya at least got water injection .
Not tryin to sound like a downer man , I just dont wanna see ya at the same point your at now a few months from now .
I dont know how your going about this assembly wise so I'll just throw a couple generic things to consider too . If you have the head resurfaced , if you had the deck resurfaced , if the cometic gasket is thinner than the stock gasket ....all will make the compression higher than the 10.5:1 , the diamond pistons are rated at .

Also to point out, you have no aftercooling upgrades...you have no type of cooling system up grades....you have no monitoring devices. You're playing russian roulette with your engine and you're just wasting your money if you don't do things right. If you stay in the same shape, you're gonna be back here posting about your engine problems.
But its your car...you do what you want.

With this danger, raising your compression will just increase the chances of your engine detonating, regardless if your internals are forged or not.

He's gonna run 5 gallon buckets instead of injectors!
