Is this normal?

My car is pretty much stock except for cai and muffler so im just wondering if this is normal. I bounced off rev limiter in first today and my friend saw black smoke shoot out of the muffler. What is the cause of this?

the engine cuts spark when it hits the limiter, the black smoke was all the excess fuel burning off.

yup sounds normal to me. I hit the rev limit in 1st and then when i went to 2nd I back fired...your ecu has the rev limiter to save your engine, your fine.
