Normal Operating temps

Being that I leave in the hot of the south...I wanted to see what the difference in engine op temps are out there for stock vs. stage kits vs. just boltons (exhaust, etc.). I owned a Chevy once, V-8, and the thing ran hot around 220 constantly and I did not like that. I live where there is quite a bit of stop and go traffic so I don't want to worry about the car's engine temp fluctuating constantly. All other cars I have owned stay temp wise put no matter how long I sit in traffic. Just curious

the temp does fluctuate quite a bit. mine went as high as 218* in traffic once but just click on the AC and the temps will drop rapidly. or you can get a tune and your fan settings can be modded like i set mine. anything above 190 gets 100% fan speed. temps drop quick. car usually runs around at 174*

My avg operating temperature is in between 180-205. 205 is normally seen while in idle. Make sure to check your fluid and make sure they are topped off dont know if your supercharged or not but make sure to check your H/E fluid that could cause high temps due to createing excess amounts of heat if the air is not properly cooled.

The ZZP PCM program will change the fan settings however those are stage kits for the supercharged ss. You can get a tune from a place like Trifecta once you get the supercharger put on and they can alter the fance settings to keep your temps lower.
