That's funny, cuz he also said that I could order it right now from him. (they are the biggest Chevy dealer in New England (Ma, Nh, Ct, Vt and Me)) So its nice to know that he was talking out his a$$ but would have let me order it. I'm sure that there is a version that will be around $700 area like the rumors that are going around here. But the "Stage 2 Performance Kit" he quoted me was $2,200 and I could order it right now and have it installed the first week of Feb. He also said that most dealers are on back order a couple months. Said that they got the news a while ago and dealers were already suppose to put in their pre-order for the parts. Also told me that Chevy hasn't didn't make that many to start. But also did say that this is just the START of A LOT of tuner parts Chevy plans on releasing. They have already have taken a few per-orders and are charging people for them already. Already went through their pre-orders but since they are such a big dealer they were going to "special" order mine. They take care of me because me and my company have used them for many years and have got dozens of cars from them in the past.
Take it as you will. Rumor or not, just thought I would let everyone know what my dude told me. Like I said I can order a stage 2 kit today from Chevy for $2,200 that includes everything that has been talked about, plus intercooler (or aftercooler whatever it is) struts and a number of other stuff. Maybe its a different stage 2 kit (maybe its a performance package as well) but that's what I was told last night and I really don't think he was talking crap. 1. He is a good friend of mine. 2. He is a tuner and has a cav doing 400hp a Chevy truck pulling 600hp and a civic doing about 550hp and kinda knows what he is talking about. 3. Also said that his cost was about 1,800 and everything I do with them is at cost, they don't ever make money off of me.
There is only one stage 2 kit, you guys just dont know what your getting yet. and the dealer only pays 500 and some change for it. I have the entire list of every part for the Cobalt I even have the parts they were going to make and canceled. I have to sya I'm not impressed with how big the list is. I can tell you parts GM will put out in 2007 for our car. They are already made just need to be produced and sold. Ask Aaron from Turbo Tech if you dont belive me.

I think you misunderstand the way the auto industry works ...we have parts for 2009 gm vehicles but that doesnt mean they will be put into production ..GM and all automotive companies explore various options send out quotes and get back prototypes which they may never produce. so for you to say you know the parts they will put out in 2007 you obviously aren't taking to account how much they change or how subject they are to termination.
(I work for a supplier of magnesium castings we do work for just about everyone you can imagine Big 3 heavily)

bdwarr6, I'm sure you know some stuff and maybe even know someone at GM and do appreciate your input. But what kinda s*cks is that I just posted some info of what I was told last night of what I was told from my dealer and what I could "actually buy RIGHT NOW' from him. Like I said I didn't give him a part number but said "Hey look into the Stage 2 kit for me, its suppose to be like $700 or something and I want to order it ASAP" He called back with that info and then I talked to my buddy that runs the parts dept. Its kinda not cool for people to be saying stuff like "he is talking outta his a$$" or ""There is only one stage 2 kit" I'm just trying to be as helpful as everyone else but seems like anytime someone has some info that isn't exactly like yours or something else that someone else posted they get slammed for not knowing crap.
Right now just about everything is a rumor and if I just didn't buy my snows and being so close to xmas I would have already given them the money for that kit, whatever was in it. I guess I will let you all know around the first of the year (after xmas) when I do order that stage whatever kit they said I could buy. I'm also going to give him another holler on Monday and get the part number and find out exactly what he said comes in that one.

OK, These guys at the dealerships are nothing but salesmen. I was at SEMA and spoke to the engineer in charge of the staged upgrades. NO THEY ARE NOT $1800 PER the GM ENGINEER that may know a few more things than a parts salesman. They will be in the area of 700 to 750 which coincides with the dealer cost that bdwarr6 quoted.
One other thing, he was very tight liped about other details about the kits. He did say that they are going to be available in the first quarter which also matches bdwarr6 quote.
So far I dont know bdwarr6 BUT, so far what he has said has matched everything that the gm guys said to ME at sema. BTW it specificly says on the gm dealer order site that the dealers deal with that all orders placed will be CANCELED...... I forgot to mention I used to sling auto parts for awile and still have some dealership freinds.

curious about the supercharger stage upgrades For my Cobalt SS.. I was
wondering if you could answer a few questions..
Release date? (is it close..?)
Pricing? (I live in Canada, so that might be tough)
And other kits available..... so many rumours around, Im hearing something
about a Stage 3? but emissions specs have to be worked out... is this
true?...any info would be helpful, and i appreciate you taking the time out
of what i am sure is a busy schedule..
Thanks Again
Keith
Heres what he said
Hi Keith,
I'm checking on your questions with the right folks and will get back to
you soon. Have a good one!
Tom.

Keith - sorry for the delay in getting back to you. The folks who handle
these parts for our business were attending an industry convention all last
week.
Right now, we have not established a release date -however, it will be in
the first quarter of 2006. As soon as the actual release date is scheduled
it will be announced with pricing. Best thing to do is to stay close to
your dealer, as they will have the information as soon as we release it.
Tom.
Not much info but atleast from the "cats mouth"
Enjoy....!!

Man, nothing like trying to give some helpful information and getting slammed for it. Think everyone just needs to chill and post the info you get and that stuff. As far as details and this p*ssing game of who is right and who is wrong cant we just wait till the damn things are out. Fine if in the first quarter they come out and you are right you can all be like your happy "I told you so" or "See I knew and you didnt" then. Like I said I was just trying to relay some info. Maybe its a Sage 2 + kit, maybe its an added performance package with it, maybe who the hell knows. But no reason to be saying that "My people are better than your people" or that "your guy doesn't know as much as my guy" that's just lame, what are we in second grade? Cuz none of that helps anyone out. Cant people just post what they have heard without getting slammed, like I have nothing better to do than sit here and start lies.
How about this:
Rumor 1: Stage 1 kit
Rumor 2: Stage 2 kit 700+
Rumor 3: Stage 2 kit with struts, cooler, some other bells and whistles bout 2000+
Rumor 4: Stage 3 kit in the works
They are just rumors and I don't care if you talked to Mr. GM himself or are him. Until anything comes out or anyone has a receipt and the damn thing installed in their car of what actually hit the market its "Just a RUMOR" so CHILL!
P.S.
"Best thing to do is to stay close to your dealer, as they will have the information"
But aren't the dealers just sales people and don't know as much as Mr. Cool guy at SEMA?
