Odd tick...

I am getting a odd tick when the motor is cold. Its hard to explain.

I have already done the tensioner and the timing chain seemed very tight.

I have close to 100,000miles on the motor.

When I start the car up it runs like normal. There is a very slight tick at idle.

When i rev the motor up slightly I can hear the tick speed up as well. Now the odd part. If I give it a little blip of gas the tick will speed up but it will also lag the rev slightly.

So itll go.. rev ..tick tick tick.

Ive done the screw driver listening trick and doesn't seem to be coming from a definite spot.

The tick goes away once the car is warmed up.

I would check around the head maybe pull the valve cover and check the rockers. Def something not right there. Hopefully the hain didn't jump, and the valves are taping. I am not 100% sure tho.. Does sound like its bottom end? if not man I'd look around the head. Good luck man.

im going to tighten the header when I get a chance, when the car is cold.

After looking through every "tick" post I found one that had a vid of a similar sound. Mine isn't as bad but same sort of sound.

It sounds like it isnt a big deal. Still going to try tightening the exhaust up though.
