Ok people, I figured it was time for an Official Exhaust thread. We have a few choices now, as well as pictures, and sound clips provided by forum members.

I thought the Performance forum was best for this, as many people ask about cat-back systems in this forum (please don't move it to the video forum as people may not see it ). Specifically for pictures, sound clips, and gains. If you get your new exhaust dyno'd please post the results here, and I will add it to the list. If you make any videos or pictures of your system please post it here, and I will add that as well.

I have also posted the best price I could find on each exhaust (each from a forum supporting vendor). If you are a supporting vendor and can beat the listed price, please post here, and I will make the change.

What is the diameter of the pipes in each system? I know borla is 2.25 and magnaflow is 2.5, so what about the other two?

Corsa is 2.5 inch on both the Touring and Sport.

I just got my Magnaflow installed today! It is Sweet! It is the best bang for your buck. I went straight and dyno'd afterward and got 7whp and 10wtq out of it!. Im happy plus it sounds really good for a 4cly. Not ricey at all! To me corsa isnt worth the extra $200. I took that $200 and bought me a CAI.

i have to say that the corsa sounds the best out of all of them. yeah it is mad exp so for the money id go with magnaflow. but for sound corsa.

I kinda like the Magnaflow but I have heard good things about the Corsa exhaust. I wanted a sound-clip so I emailed Corsa this is the response....

Can we get the gmpp exhaust from the dealership? I only want to put gm part on mine... because of cops...If it says gm right on the exhaust they gonna leave me alone. Thanks

^^^ I had a VERY bad experience with a Vibrant intake on my J-body. The quality was beyond sub-par. To ellucidate: welds sticking out a quarter of an inch INSIDE the intake tube, horrendous fitment- It looked and fit like a Franken-pipe made from some spare bends they picked up off the floor and quickly welded together. I had to cut 2 inches off for it to clear the hood, and the filter STILL broke off the first time I ran it because the placement was bad. Bah- I was VERY dissappointed.

But to bring it to bear on this topic- I predict shoddy welds and poor fitment on the Vibrant system if my intake was any indication of their welding techniques and engineering.

Wow that was a long video myoshizawa819. But that should cover all sound situations. Thanks. I still leaning towards the Corsa Touring. I liked the sound of the Sport, but I like quiet exhausts on anything less than 8 cylinders. (with the exception of the Viper V10 that thing sounds terrible)

I want to hear the GMPP exhaust and see the gains on all before I vote.

Yeah i know magnaflow claims 7whp and 13wtq. I got 7whp and 10wtq. They werent bullshiting. You can feel a big power difference in top end.

I am still waiting on the tip. Although, LilBlueSC has one on. It sounds good. I'll get over there and get it on tape. Just bought a new video cam that has its own external camera...I can't wait to try it out.

I just listened to the new corsa video, and my Magnaflow sounds just like it from inside the car.

Regarding the vibrant and aa exhausts. We really don't have any info on vibrant yet, aside from a picture and pricing. Plus, the vibrant system won't be out until March, so its much too early to speculate. As for altered atmosphere, we have one forumer (zinner I think) who actually has it, and he seems to be interested in buying a different one. And one other forumer who bought it, and was very disappointed do to fitment issues. There is just much greater interest in the other more accomplished exhausts.

oh and magnaflow and corsa neck and neck in the voting I'm surprised gmpp has gotten so many votes, and only those who actually have it, have heard it.

Doc that would be awesome if you could get some sound/video from your friend! I still haven't made my decision. Either magnaflow or gmpp. I like the corsa alot, but its just too damn expensive. You could get stage 1 + magnaflow cat-back for just alittle over what just one corsa system would cost.
