The clean one is the ported head, the dirty one is my stock head. They eye is playing games with me but the dirty one looks wider but I used a digital gauge to check the openings. The clean head is 1mm larger width and height.

So the car is up and running with the ported head and new pistons but the TOON hates me, LOL. Its super lean and hangs at 2200 rpm while going down the road and takes a long time to get back down to the 900 rpm idle. Getting that fixed soon.

Anyway, the sensor below the fuel rail I found out is the Ambient barometric pressure sensor, dont remove it, I took it off and it threw a P2226 code, guess it tests the outside air BARO to compare to the pressure in the intake. Thought it was a sensor leftover from the supercharger. Nope it needs to stay on there.

Ignore the big chunk of brass and the breather, its temporary. My lines and catch can are in the mail. Going to create a vacuum on the catch can and connect my heavily modified valve cover to the setup in 3 places.

So the MAF and MAP sensors are mounted on my hahn manifold seen below. Why is there 7 degrees between IAT1 vs IAT2 (IAT1 = MAF, IAT2 = MAP) if they are sitting on the same manifold?

your MAF is not on the manifold, it should be on the intercooler piping.

That's not your MAF. One is the SCIP, other is the MAP/IAT2 sensor.

You all are right, I am an idiot. It must be a long night. I know that my MAF is in my cold side charge piping. Just after my intercooler, I am the one that bolted it there, LOL. I seriously dont know why I asked that question. Take a look at my build thread, I assembled the turbo kit, installed my own forged pistons, and modified my own valve cover. I am not that dumb I promise.

MAP/IAT2 is on the manifold hence why its a good bit warmer than the one after the Intercooler, which MAF/IAT1 stays below 100 generally (even in 90+ texas heat)

What I should have asked was what was the SCIP sensor for since there is no supercharger anymore? Why was it not deleted by hahn? Do you all keep the sensor with your ZZP setups or other turbo kits?

EDIT: I just looked at my old tune when I was on the hahn turbo kit at 15 psi. It was so happy and rarely knocked. My new mods have made that tune obsolete. Its lean and runs like crap... :rolleyes

I am reading a book called Engine Management Advanced Tuning by Greg Banish in the Performance How-to series of books. I am learing so much about timing, spark, MAF, and generally anything about tuning our cars. Just tonight, I read a few chapters and have been really enjoying it. Now putting into practice is going to take some time but I am babying the car anyway due to ring break-in.

why don't you just come down to houston and have one of our guys look at it? We have two Trifecta dealers, and two extremely credible and awesome HP Tuners here as well.

Sounds awesome but I am packing my home and moving very shortly. I cant right now. I am also logging the car for CCSS3. He has been a big help. There is also this thread that I am going to try if I can figure out how to log LTFT STFT and MAF tables. In my tuning book (bansih) it states that once you get maf correct everything else uses it as a reference so it makes the biggest difference to have it corrected to a turbo car.

You probably havent seen my turbo duck thread but there is a step by step pictorial of my build. Yeah I honed the sleeves and I have put some boost on the engine a few times. Not more than 10 psi at a time, using the go pedal as my boost controller.

Getting maf tuned right now, logging for ccss3 today.

the baro sensor is just that, barometric. it just stays open to the air. you sure your not confusing it with the SCIP?

Or maybe he's talking about the boost bypass solenoid? Which is not needed any more.

OK. Im aware that I don't need the SCIP anymore (the sensor that sat on top of the blower inlet)
