redrilled volks? never ever plz you wouldve destroyed those beautiful rims. Ive only seen 1 real deal set of volks for a cobalt ss in 5x110 and they were 19s or I would own them already

I did talk about this a few pages back in one of my rants though. Quit asking about HP, it doesnt matter how much HP you make if it runs like ass and cant get out of the 15s in the quarter. Start asking about the kit and what the powerbands look like.

MP Cobalt, My car is currently at 438whp and has 178k miles on the stock motor.

Chris, its not shitting the bed slowly anymore, that bastard is puking oil, smoking like a chimney and pretty sure its going to be dead in no time flat. Ive been keeping it out of boost and just driving it until I can afford the pistons and rings as we discussed. Im going to get a gauge and go measure the cylinders in my spare engine soon.

Too bad, I just had to send back the stock sized Diamond for the motor I am building. If they would have fit your car you could have got a deal since the customer more thank likely has to pay a 15% restocking fee.... Bullshit because even on a brand new sleeve the so called Diamond stock replacement piston doesnt even fit!

I have a spare block I need to sleeve and hone then I am going to send it out to ZZP too. I also have a spare head that I am going to send out to get ported. I will get the ZZP pistons and basically just have a badass built motor waiting, just incase my motor want to go. I hope it doesnt, the sleeves are holding up well. When I blew my head gasket I saw no signs of uneven wear or scratches.

Set your fuel pressure to what your setup requires. All is going to depend on injectors, mods, and fuel..

That wouldve been nice. Im thinking Im going to get away with my machined crank, stock rods and Diamonds w/gapless rings. Probably going to keep the head stock for now

your not looking hard enough lol, I picked mine up complete for $300 with a bad piston in it. Anytime you are going to build a car, a spare motor is never a bad idea. Once I can get a full build in mine, Ill swap it in and then turn around and build the spare even more extreme lol

mine is 42 base pressure 40 at idle and 67 at 25psi boost

Just had my balt dyno tuned today. When I got it back home and did some pulls I had an issue. Whenever I get into high boost my dash lights, boost gauge, and hvac controls get really bright. They continue to get brighter as the boost increases until about 22lbs and all my lights including my headlights shut off. My tack also stops working. But my radio stays on. Until I let off the gas then everything comes back on instantly. I never have a problem with normally driving. We discounted the alternator (One that came with ZZP's turbo kit) and the problem disappeared. So my question is, is it just a bad alternator?

get a volt meter and check it, its possibly overcharging the electrical system. may be a bad relay, a short, several other things electrical is a bitch.

Well guys, fairly positive that it died tonight, gonna start tearing into it in the morning, but I heard a loud clunk like something falling into the oil pan. The car then ran like ass, wouldnt accelerate worth a damn, was well above the normal vacuum range that the car cruises at. sounded like a WRX and when I finally got it home so that I could actually pop the hood, there was oil covering everything under the hood.

Yea def ring or ringland, didnt get a chance to break it down but Ive been talking to Chris and Mr. Belvedere for about a week about what its been doing so it was no surprise.

I feel great that it made it this far, I dont have the exact odo reading but its right at 178k miles.

The plans for now, because I want the car back running as quickly as possible is to have my valve train checked, get the head and block decked. Im going to measure the sleeves and check them for issues, and then rebuild.

Its getting:
Knife Edged/cryo dipped and xray'd crank, balanced w/my ACT clutch set
Stock rods
Diamond Pistons w/ total seal gapless rings
All new seals/rod bearings/main bearings
New valve seats
ARP head studs
Powell rotated mounts
Balance shaft delete

gonna shoot for mid 500s while I save for an actual full engine build

Thanx for the kind words, I def want it back up and running soon and Ill keep everyone in on the progress.

The sleeves in my spare block are still in great condition so I dont see a need and the lead time on getting them and then getting it into my choice of machine shop is ~ 4months and I want my car back. This motor is just for getting my car back on the road.

The next motor will be a full built with ported head, built valve train, cams, dartons, h beam rods, etc etc
