My car had over 100k at 300+ before I put the new bottom end in (nothing had failed at that point either...I just had a new bottom end and some time..lol).. Obviously the higher you crank it up the shorter the life span, but i think the 40k estimate is a little low

i wouldn't. road racing is extremely hard on them. and john does this quite often. {mosport is within spitting distance for him} plus the random speed runs he does. he isn't the easiest on them

But, on the flip side, he's a responsible driver with a proper tune, quite unlike a good chunk of this forum...

I took it out for a quick drive yesterday but only was able to get on it for a couple seconds at a time, so I didn't really get enough to give any feedback. Mainly wanted to get it driving well enough so I can get it on lunch and drive it to work one afternoon if it gets nice out this week. It doesn't sound cammed at idle anymore though

The thing with S 2 cams is slower than a sonic tied to a tree until 4500 rpm....

you drive with these cams? Dyno and on road, extensively like I did? We got 323 its a dd, on pump gas, SSKev did a real good tune, idles smooth ac on, very driveable, and above 4500 hauls like a r****d ape. Its a great 1320 set up.

Below 4500?

call it traction control.
