oh god not another intake thread

ok you can tell me to search.... and i will tell you to go to hell because i have been searching for days.

Is there a damn intake that will actually fit this car properly (without modifications), and that will not have any CELs? And I don't want any cheap POS ones that were pieced together. PLEASE does anyone have an answer?

the new injen cai will fit nicely. and it wont throw a code. or u could do the airbox mod like i have and get a nice lil gain plus the same sound. $50 vs $220.00. its up to u. i only get a cel in the freezing weather

from what i understand, the new injen intakes still pose fitment problems, by still pushing on the bumper, or causing rub with the tire during left turns....

uhhhh....i dunno what ur talking bout...i installed my injen in 45 mins after work today. Fits GREAT ( QC date is march 9th, so its the new model ) I've only put about 30 kms on the car since the install but no CEL yet. Overall it's a great intake IMO.

by chance did u read previous posts about this intake, and figure out how you didn't run into the same problems? cuz if the injen fits right with no cels, then that is what i want

Well i went into the install thinking i'd need to leave out the vibramount bushing ( this is the general fitment fix for the old model injen's ) but once i had everything mocked up it fit perfect so i didn't bother. Don't get me wrong tho...getting it to fit was a PITA (took up about 80% of the install time) but it's FAR from impossible if you're patient.

i have the injen and the QC is in january 2006 so the fit is not perfect... but i have make my mods to make it fit right( just put it were it suposed to be and screw it in the fender with a metal screw, a washer and 2 rubber donut for the vibration) i'm really happy with it...if i had to do it again...i will still go with the injen...BTW no cel in 3000km...

Yea do what we did. I modded mine and made it completely a CAI. Sounds just like the aftermarket and probably same performance gains and was NOT a hack job. Check out my galley and u can see pics there. I couldn't see why to spend 200 bux on something I could do for 50 bux and have the same performance. Fitment was perfect (obviously). 3-4 hp (guessing) to me wasn't worth 200 bux. But some people like to say that they have the brand in their car. I have No CEL and now with Stage 2 my car is a SCREAMER!!
