Oil on K&N Air Filter
Oil on K&N Air Filter
I got a check engine light. i was guessing it was from the oil on the filter getting on the MAF. so i poured cat litter on my first and it soaked the oils right up. it worked great.
I don't think its the oil. When I put my k&n in the light came on two days later. I drove the car for a week and then I put my stock unit back in and the light went off and stayed off. I drove the car for a week with the stock unit back in and no light so I put the k&n back in and the light came on the same day. If it was the oil the light would've stayed on for awhile after installing the stock intake. Thats my 2cents.

lol i posted that just to see what people would say. dont go pouring cat litter on it. yeah i guess its just the k&n. is there anyone who has solved the CEL problem>?
Lean
If I had to guess what the problem was it would be a lean code. From what I've ready about the cobalts fuel injectors they are alsomost maxed so when adding a CAI And on top of that when the ambiant temp is low their is a greater volume of air intering the engine. The MAS and MAP sensiors read the increase of air to fuel as out side it's programed perameters. The sock injectors will probably need upgrading along with a reflash to browden the parameters and add more fuel. The reflash will probably allow more radical future mods with out the troublesome CEL showing up. I would like to see what the max capabillities of GM's Stage 2 kits will be. This is all just my opinion guys gathered from previous experience. I hope you can find out more factual data To better help you with your moding. It would be a good Idea to get info from GM sence it was programed an engineered buy them. Good Luck with the CEL's.
