i just used 2 qts of full syn and 4 qts of syn-blend..........short on cash and auto zone didnt have anymore full syn anyway.

You wouldnt think that they would put something in that would hurt the car. Especially since the oil life moniter is set up for synthetic.

Damn, I would have held out....old syn oil is better then half syn in my opinion....I've always heard its not good to go anything less than syn after you have had it in your motor anyways...don't know how much truth there is to that, but it sounds completely logical to me...

The manual says its OK to use regular oil in case you need a quart or two to top it off between changes and there's no full synthetic available.

This is one thing I miss by not having the LSJ engine. I like to see just what I can get away with, so if I did have the LSJ, I think I would run regular oil in it just to prove its probably OK too. Yes I'm aware it might void the warranty because it doesn't meet the spec listed in the manual. But it would be an interesting experiment.
