Is this okay?

I was calling around for a shop that can bend exhaust, and I found a shop right by me that can bend 3". So I'm thinking of getting a custom 3" cat-back. Is that too big? They are only asking 250 because I have a nice muffler already.

If your just going to stay stage 2, I'd say yes. If you got future plans on going bigger, then do 3".

Just my opinion.

it might b too big. ur mods don't have enough performance to demand a 3". if u plan on goin with more performance mods, then get it. but in the mean time u will more than likely lose power. alot of guys/girls use 2.5.

THE WESTERN NY GUYS!!! WOOT!!!!! first to answer!

well its going to be more than what's in my sig. I'll go stage 3 later on but it will just be basic mods for a while. Should I just have them go dp back and delete the cat? Because I don't have to
take emissions!

Why would you want a custom bent 3" exhaust? When all is said and done, youll be lucky if it will flow like a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust. They kink pretty bad at the bends when they bend them.Your better off buying a mandrel bent 2.5" exhaust.Plus 3" is over kill unless your pushing atleast 350 hp.

X2 but you can do it just wont have a whole lot of back pressure for boost
You dont want back pressure for boost.

You don't want to run a 2.7 on 42lbsr's. And 2.5" will be perfect for you.

On a side note you live just down the road from me. I have never seen you but you should come to our meet on Sunday. I will pm you.

2.7 with 42's, not going to say one more thing, but not good....I don't care who tunes it. Your asking for problems.

doesn't stage 3 come with 60lb injectors neways? 2.7 is mad small. ur engine will hate u if u run 42lbs. there's a guy with a 350whp honda n he runs a 3" exhaust. so, i mean...stage 2 is like a 250 hp setup correct? and stage 3 is probably 300. idk unless u plan on getting a stage 3 NOW stick with the 2.5.

2.5" or 3", there is almost no performance difference, unless you take into effect crush bends. ALso, 3" will mainly just be louder and more aggressive, i have a 3" to help the scavenging effect of my long tube headers, mainly 3" is a great addition for a collector right after the header to help out.

what he said! you will never lose power by going to 3in you may possibly move your power band to a higher rpm and you will gain power by going 3in just might not notice the power till 5500rpm and higher

Stage 3 from GM uses 42LB injectors.

okay so 2.7 is too small? what should i go then? and 3" will still give me power just at a higher rpm right? i wont lose any power correct?

im going to go with a 2.5 inch with the cat deleted. and they have a machine that mandrel bends. it cheap because one of my friends works there. and about the pulley and injectors, in going with 42lb as of right now so what size pulley should i buy? also what size if i decide 60lb?

3.06, or 2.9. you won't see much gain between the two. you can get over 260 to the tire i your combo on parts is right with a stage 2 pulley

im going to get 42lb with a intense 2.8, would that be a good combo along with step 1 colder plugs? and a 2.5 inch exhaust with a deleted cat? is that a good overall combo?

i think hes missing the point... if u run a smaller than 2.9 pulley on a stage 2 tune you are going to run out of injector at high rpm and the smaller the pulley the more heat you generate the more heat you generate the less hp youll make you would do just as good if not better with the stage 2 pulley unless you are planning on cooling mods and custom tune (hp)

and if your going with a cat delete you know youll get a p0420 cel and lose lower rpm tq so 3in exhaust will be a hell of a top end car but daily driving will suffer... now notice i didnt say daily driving will be **** i said it will suffer but should still be fine, now thats why i went with 3in and kept the cat it allowed me to maintain some back pressure but also reducing knock as much as possible there is much to learn my friend but stay on the forum and do research before you try anything and you should be fine
