Don't feel bad. Even with my mechanical boost gauge I still haven't seen over 10 psi. Then again I haven't had a chance to floor it in 3rd yet.

With stage 2 and a 2.8 im geting 17.5 PSI Max and my car pulls like a ****! Im thinking that your gauges is not reading correctly at high boost but is at lower boost levels. Hens you think its right but it realy isnt.

I would get a scan gauge or new boost gauge and see if you still have the same boost levels.

I don't mean to be an A$$ here, but I would rather hear about where he ordered the parts from, then hear how people almost **** themselves when they go for a ride. Could give up some info on these parts? Thanks

I ordered the Cometic MLS headgasket straight from Cometic. Here is the link: http://www.cometic.com/da_viewimage.aspx?da=159

I ordered the Golden Eagle headstuds from Lightning Motorsports, and had them direct shipped from Golden Eagle. Here is the link: http://shopping.lightningmotorsports...2&cat=0&page=1

Here is the link to the 20psi video. Sorry about the crappy quality, but all I had was the camera phone.

Yeah I apologize on the quality. I'll see if I can do better today with the digital camera.

while I agree, IF the headgasket changed something, bore, thickness etc there could be a residual with boost, the gasket itself is for a 2.2, the bore is the same but the thickness of the gasket might have changed...personally I dont know stock gasket thickness....if thinner and raised cr it might have a boost effect....or its a kinked line to the map, lol
For example the 2.2 s/c kit has the same size pulley and s/c and intake manifold but due to the engine size being slightly different the s/c only makes 10psi.....

The gasket I bought is the same thickness as the stock one. I checked on that and made sure. The head was resurfaced too, which means the compression ratio may have gone up a little as well. I highly doubt that would add boost though. I'll get a dyno appointment, and compare it to my privious dyno with just an intake. I might even squeeze in a track night on wednesday.

Maybe playing with the cam sensor has something to do with the PSI?

I'm glad to see that your car is back together and running great! However, somthing isn't right about the 20psi. It could feel so strong because of finally being able to drive it again, combined with dropping to a 2.8" pulley. Let us know what you find out.

I was thinking about this from this perspective, and it seems logical to me.

16-12.5= 3.5psi with a .24 reduction in pulley size (Stock to Stage 2)
20-16= 4psi with a .26 reduction in pulley size (Stage 2 to 2.8")

It seems like a fair possiblilty to me. Remeber I'm in Charleston, SC which is at or below sea level. Altitude doesn't affect me here like other places do.

I hit 16 on the dynojet with my stage 2 and no other mods. I cant seem to hit as high anymre thought. I can get it up to 105kpa wich is about 15.4psi. Thought id throw that in. I would think i would hit almost 17 with the 2.8 at sea level. No way yours can be 20.

I am hitting about 17-18 PSI with a 2.7" pulley. Your not hitting 20 with a 2.8" pulley. It's not possible unless there is something wrong with your car. Your guage is reading wrong for one reason or another, and finding out why may be a wise move on your behalf.
