Option B question (Air bleeder hose)
Just installed my dual pass with opt b. DIDN'T get to hook up the air bleeder hose to the top of the stock heat exchanger cause we didn't have a fitting. I was an hour away from home and when I got home the supercharger felt very cool to the touch so I know the dual pass was working.
Question is, is it absolutely NECESSARY to hook up that air bleeder hose from the opt b tank to the top of the heat exchanger? And if so, what fitting do I need to buy in order to hook it up?
Any input would be great
EDIT: 2nd question, I stripped the bolt and the hole on the heat exchanger trying to take the bolt out. Asked a guy to take the bolt on his heat exchanger out (he was selling his, I was going to buy it from him) and he stripped his as well trying to take it out. Why is this happening? Almost like that bolt isn't supposed to come out. Both of our h/e look like they had loctite or some sort of residue around the bolt.

1 use the search button this has been covered
2 dual pass hos nothing to do with blower temp just post lam core air temp and that is for recovery time nothing more
3 for the option b to work correctly you need the bleed line hooked up
4 if you bought the gm kit it comes with all fittings needed

I spent almost 45 minutes using the search button and couldn't find the answer so I had to result in making this thread.
I didn't buy a KIT I bought the endplate from ZZP and the option B tank along with the hoses from a forum member. No fitting.
Upon STILL using the search button in this forum since making this thread, I'm wondering if I could just buy a 1/4" brass fitting from Home Depot, but then there's an air bleed restrictor fitting that's placed inside it so I'm lost.

the fitting you need to screw into the top of the heat exchanger is 1/8" npt (pipe thread) to 1/4" hose barb. the restrictor itself doesnt need to be anything fancy, its supposed to have a .040" hole. you can just take a 1/4" bolt and drill a hole in it and stuff it in the hose.
for the longest time i didnt have a restrictor in the bleed hose and i didnt have any issues.

I got my opt b kit from ottp. They send a small piece of plastic just big enough to fit in the hose and then they drill a .040 hole in it. Like my kit from them except they only gave me one tee. No biggy I'll just buy another from an auto parts store.
Word of advice, at least in my area if you go in asking for a .040 restrictor they'll look at you like your crazy. Try and find a part number they could cross reference or just look for that fitting pictured above.
