i still dont understand why people buy the gm stage 2 if your going to get a custom tune... ur just wasting money on the gm stage kit.

either just get a custom tune with a 2.9 and 42#ers or go with the GM stage 2 wit nates 2.9.... the custom tune basically wipes out the stage tune

yeah... I know that.. so wouldnt it be easier to order the stage 2... swap pulleys, skip the GM tune for custom? or would it be cheaper to buy the 2.9, 42#er's, the belt and all the seperate, and do a custom tune that way?

when you get stage 2, i believe it needs to be installed by a dealer to keep your warranty

so ur spending 500 extra for a pulley.. u can buy the stage 2 pulley used off here real cheap.. also ur custom tune voids that precious warranty.... the header intake and exhaust dont help neither...

just tryin to save u some money bud

the gm stage 2 is a belt, pulley injectors and tune for about 550. nates 2.9 is like 50
if u do a custom tune on top of that.. lets just say 400. total=$1000

2.9" pulley (brand new-not used) 100, belt 50, injectors w/harness 200 custom tune 400
total=$750

and u can buy used parts as well to lower the price

the custom tune wipes out the stage tune.. no point at all if ur gonna get a custom tune to buy a stage 2 kit

o and im 20 and i pay for my car.. and since ur 18 ur in the same position as me.. good luck tryin to actually get warranty work done on ur car

When i purchased the stage 2, I didn't think i was going to do any more than that. But now I have a need for speed. Some people purchase the stage 2 and don't know they can do all the extra stuff. I didn't even know about this site until after I purchased the stage 2.

got my stage 2 kit from crateenginedepot for 550 and GM charged me 215 to install it and soon im buying a 2.9 off of nate for 55 thats only $820 for stage 2 kit, nstall, nd a 2.9 pulley if you want to keep your warranty this is what everyone is doing because it only takes about 15 minutes to change the 2.9 back to the stage 2 pulley...

na thats not what i ment.. if u dont think ur doing more than that that by all means.. go gm stage 2.. but he already has stated that he wants a custom tune... if that is his upgrade path then i was saying that it is a waste to buy gm stage 2

o im sorry i agree with you all the way but he also said he wants his warranty and if he pieces together a stage kit from other company's from gm and gets a custom tune that will void his warranty right?

You have to keep checking on ebay all the time and you will find a good deal. You just have to be patient. Just type in "cobalt stage" in the search column.
