ordered zzp s3 heat exchanger

i just placed a order on the s3 h/e and did some search, read a lot of threads on bumper not fitting after installing it and people complaining that it started to leak right away. I just hope everything comes out fine with the one they send me.

You will be ok. Are you installing the part yourself? Make sure you bleed all the air out.

its a really tight fit. just make sure you get all the air out and you hook the hoses up correctly. and if its anything like what i had to do, good luck with the clamps near the pump. they are a bitch.

10 min to find tools. 10 min to take bumper off. 10 min install heat ex. 10 min to install hoses. Forever to bleed air out. Stock bleeder valve on top of the factory heat exchanger to left. 10 more min to drink a beer. I would say under 2hrs...

I'm doing this pretty soon too. I know there was a write up but can't find it at the moment. Try to find someone who has done it.

I just installed mine and it didnt take long to bleed the air out. Just make sure to make it flow from the bottom and out the top and it will bleed a whole lot easier.

^^^ Did your bumper bow at all from that? I got mine to fit 90% perfect and that took a long ass time. Don't feel like having to align it again.

I had no problems with mine, i tried installing with the bumper on its ok, but then i decided to take the bumper off to make it easier. I would install the h/e and get your hoses run and cut to length. The hose going into the top of the h/e i wouldn't attach yet. Take a funnel and pour the coolant to fill it up the best you can then attach that hose to the bottom of the stock h/e. Make sure you put plenty of thread tape on the fittings before installing them on the h/e. Mine drip a little but its not bad enough that it gets low at all. I haven't had to add any coolant. Then fill it back up at the fill neck. Be careful when you bleed the air out the h/e is all aluminum so its easy to mess up the threads. Mine were messed up so i tapped it and put a small oil pan drain plug with a rubber washer on it and it works great but it was a pain in the ass. Good luck with the install.

so my h/e came in today and i wanted to try to install it with the bumper on, i dont know what you guys keep talking about when ya'll say you have to drill 2 holes in the crash bar, the bumper that has 2 plastic bolts under the crash bar align with the top brackets of the h/e. But the 2 side brackets dont even come close to going over the screw, it keeps hitting under the screw and i cant get the side bracket over it for those of you who know what im talking about. So tommorow im going to remove the bumper instead and see how to do this.

There should be two holes for the top of the h/e and the tabs on the sides you actually have to bend them to your specs. Bleeding it is easy. Leave the cap off the filler unscrew the bolt on stock heat exchanger. But don't so it all the way . After u don't see air bubbles coming out the bolt in the stock h.e leave the bolt alone and put the cap on the sc coolant filler neck and let it idle for a few mins and you should be bled if u don't see anymore Copland. Make sure to jeep filling the sc coolant to
