OTT with 2.9?

hey guys im looking to buy OTT stage 1 over the spring and i do not want to run meth. i will have all other cooling mods, i was just wondering what the tune from OTT would be like if i ran a 2.9 pulley rather than a 2.8. i just dont want as much heat soak from the blower since i wont be using meth. hopefully lsjwannabe chimes in

Its gonna be hot as hell anyway... The meth doesnt cool the blower in that sense so much... i mean it does, but not as much as youd think...

anyting under a 2.7 or so will start getting pointless (inefficient).. the 2.8 with 60s is a awesome setup without getting out of line with heat.

the injection kit sprays the water on a molecular level...

Seriously.. youll be alright.. lol...

And yes meth / water injection is freakin sweet, and cools the air down more than it does the physical parts itself... It would be a good protection mod, but you dont NEED it for the 2.8...

I disagree. I think it is a must for anything smaller than a 3.0.

Then again, most people don't have summer heat up to 110 F.

heat is bad. mmkay...

i have a 2.8 and 60s, with a CA heat exchanger. my iat2 hits 140 with the QUICKNESS. I was considering going back up to a 2.9 but I doubt that will even make a measurable difference

I dont want to spend the $ on methanol and have to go through the hassle of uninstalling it when I need warranty work done.

If I saw my IAT go past 180, I would run away

You can hide it very good in the engine bay.
As for price, if your talking about actually buying the meth being expensive, it only cost about $2 a full tank. It differs depending on how you drive but it can last anywhere from a week, to over a month. I drive semi aggressive and mine last about 3 weeks. Thats not even $3 a month. Also you can find some fender mount kits for under 200.00 and it is very easy to install/uninstall.

You can put a 3gph nozzle on there and it would be fine and damn sure run cooler and safer.

H/E is a must for stock let alone stage 2. Trust me you lose ALOT of power by the time you hit 100 under a WOT pull. Your lucky not to pop something by 130 stock. It is THAT awful.

Methanol does help cool the SC however. The difference between IAT2s with a 3.0 and a 2.8 is marginal...infact there isnt even a 1 degree difference from my logs with the same IAT1s.

Methanol injection makes the CAI ice cold to the touch and the SC luke warm. Unlike it being superhot after a couple of runs. This does not change the air charge temp from my logs tho. Then again, i did max my timing with each upgrade.
