OTT with 2.9?
H/E is a must for stock let alone stage 2. Trust me you lose ALOT of power by the time you hit 100 under a WOT pull. Your lucky not to pop something by 130 stock. It is THAT awful.
Methanol does help cool the SC however. The difference between IAT2s with a 3.0 and a 2.8 is marginal...infact there isnt even a 1 degree difference from my logs with the same IAT1s.
Methanol injection makes the CAI ice cold to the touch and the SC luke warm. Unlike it being superhot after a couple of runs. This does not change the air charge temp from my logs tho. Then again, i did max my timing with each upgrade.

i have 10 WOT pulls on the same day with the same IAT1s of 77. doing a pull through the end of 3rd ALWAYS resorted to a 135 degree IAT2. 3.0, 2.8, 2.8+methanol. Only thing change with the tunes was the timing
2.8 to 2.7 i would think youd see a difference...
2.8 to 2.9.. not so much...
I think the cooler s/c will help the air from getting too hot to detonate, keeping things stable..
but it doesnt have much effect on the iat2 temps..

while on the subject of the OTT stage 1 kit... on the options for buying the kit it has a "remove torque management" option. what will this do and would you select yes or no??? thanks in advance
remove it...
Im not sure exactly how it works.. but..
Torque Management (TM) reduces power on all upshifts and downshifts by a percent reduction of available torque, by either closing the throttle blades or using spark reduction. In the GTO, the ignition timing is reduced in an effort to protect the transmission. Six-speed-equipped cars do not have TM programming, but HP Tuners has a tab titled M6 C.A.G.S that allows the tuner to disable the skip-shift functionality.
Within the TM functionality is an Abuse Mode, which is programmed to reduce torque starting at low rpm. In the stock programming, the available torque is reduced based on an ECM lookup table under % Torque Reduction vs. Spark. Entering zeros for the values causes the computer to disregard the programmed parameters.
In TM, Torque Reduction vs. Torque vs. Shift table, the factory has pre-set torque percent reductions for each available shift of the four-speed auto trans based on whether the engine is at wide-open throttle or not. Removing the pre-set torque percent reductions will result in all available torque on each shift.

Lose the torque management.
If I were to go with water/meth injection, I would want a trunk mount kit. Hidden and has a larger tank.
Tuning isn't an issue for me. I have HPTuners and I'm decent with it.
I may have to give in eventually and get it, because the power drop-off in 3rd gear is horrible. It just stops pulling after 2nd gear. My trap speeds are only 98-99 mph
You can hide it very good in the engine bay.
As for price, if your talking about actually buying the meth being expensive, it only cost about $2 a full tank. It differs depending on how you drive but it can last anywhere from a week, to over a month. I drive semi aggressive and mine last about 3 weeks. Thats not even $3 a month. Also you can find some fender mount kits for under 200.00 and it is very easy to install/uninstall.

Yea I have the trunk mount and it would be easy to hide in the trunk. Lucky for me, my dealership doesn't care and welcomes modding. The only way they would find it that I can think of anyways would be if they have to take off your CAI or disconnect your battery. The meth netted me 18 whp and made third gear my favorite on cause it pulls so much harder.
from my experience 3rd gear lost alot without the H/E the most.
With H/E it made 3rd gear liveable but still not up to par with a TC
methanol injection with a 60/40 mix, 11.8 AFR, and a 2.8 made my 3rd pull harder than a TC.
oh and timing was 24-25.5 across the board.
