Ottp

I'm about to purchase an intake for my 07 SS/SC. I was leaning towards OTTP 3 inch. Does anyone have it installed and what do you think of it and how does it fit

I ordered from ottp, I did receive mine after a couple weeks, but as far as that goes it is a 2 piece intake. Fittament was perfect. Sound was amazing. As stated it will throw a cel no matter what. Ottp's customer service is not the greatest, and it could take a looooong time for it to arrive. zzp's is cheaper, still 3" and you get their awesome customer service and fast shipping.

I have an 07 and the ZZP. doesnt hit the brake likes, but rubs abit on the hood strut. takes a bit to get it in place, but goes in fine. you have to drill a hole to mount it but no big deal.

You shouldnt have to drill any holes to mount an intake. If you do, the design is shitty. I know ZZP is smarter than that. Are you sure you installed it correctly?

I had to drill a hole for the mounting on mine as well. Its nothing crazy and its just a piece of the front cross member.

Why doesnt ZZP weld a bracket on it to mount to the frame like all the other intakes pn the market have??

The older version of their 3" intake had a bracket for mounting.

They provided a thread metal retainer clip (the ones that hold the headlight bucket on the lower section). All you do is tap it and just do a quick drill through and you're good. I haven't been around long enough to know anything different but it was a slight bear to get everything dead straight and aligned up perfectly.

Oh. See I'm to experienced in working on cars so I'm not trying to drill a hole. Does anyone have the zzp 3 inch installed and had no fitting issues

Well, I guess that will help with fine tuning the alignment of the intake. Hey, if it works it works

You do NOT have to drill a hole for ZZP Intake. If you do you have it lined up wrong. It's a little tough to install without scratching, but it's worth it.

i have the ottp 3 inch installed. i had to trim the coupler that connects to the supercharger just a little bit to install the top pipe without touching the brake lines, but i got it. it's not hard to do. after that, it fits great, sounds awesome, looks nice (i have the unpolished stainless steel), and i actually didn't and still haven't gotten a CEL.

It is impossible for you install this part without drilling a pilot hole. I am not sure if they did an update on their intake or what but there is only one spot that it lines up with and fits onto. It is east to drill into the piece as a long as you tap it first.

I would prefer a 3 inch intake, but it seems like either ottp or zzp is a hassle to install. Does anyone know what other 3 inch intakes are out there for the 07 surpercharged ss. I looked at the rd fab and its only for the 06. What's the difference between the two years
