Ottp stage 1 mounts.
FYI, if you feel you need a bit more than the stage 1's can handle, but don't want to upgrade to a stage 2... just go down to your dealership and spend the whopping $45 on an LNF rear mount.
It kind of turns the stage 1 into a stage 1.5. It's stiffer, but isolates the sound and vibes better than the Stage 2 mount.
Funny thing is, it's not really a 'trick' at all... it's right in the GM service manuals.
John and I even stated, in that RLF thread back in the day, the exact excerpt from the service book.

what do you mean. you jack the car up on stands. then jack up on the tranny with a wood block inbetween just a little then unbolt the 3 bolts on the rear and theres 1 going through it..then the front one has 3 i believe 1 going through the middle. and loosen the passenger mount like said. oh and u gotta push the one sensor out of the hole on the rear mount then put it back in (biggest pita of this).

Might have been because I hit **** with my down pipe like a really tall man hole and a speed bump that I didn't see. Not sure. But I read that the stock mounts allow the engine to move too much which sometimes causes the flex pipe to break and zzp even has a disclaimer pretty much saying its not their fault if you break one of there flex pipes if you don't have mounts.
