P0171 after hard rain

So tonight i was driving home from work and it is pouring and at one point hit a very large puddle that i did not see until the last min. well i hit the puddle pretty hard but everything seemed ok. but then a little while later i the cel came on and when i would get up to about 3 grand in 2nd and 3rd gear the car would bog. id let off and it would be ok for a little and then it would do it again at around 3 grand again. i went to autozone and got the code cleared and less than a mile down the road it came right back.

help me, what should i do?

The MAF may have gotten wet. It's strange it went into "limp mode" with P0171. That's a lean code and won't usually effect the car like that. You should invest in a OBD II scanner to read and clear codes.

If it doesn't resolve it's self overnight, have it looked at.

I could be mistaken, but it should indicate on the DIC "Engine power reduced" when in limp mode.

take the maf off clean it, and air filter. verify all is clean like the intake tubing, and verify there is no holes in fenderwheel where water can come in. if so get some inner fenderwells

My car went through a puddle too and this is what the CEL read:
AF ratio too rich
MAF failure
misfire
coil #3 failure
the result, a blown rod

When i got everything fixed it was too late because the small amount of water in the engine caused too much damage. So if your CEL is still on and keeps coming on and cant determine what it is i suggest some diagnostics. trust me

Autozone ect can clear it.

GET A HYDROSHIELD!!!!! Best 20$ you can spend. Why risk it?

It 100% is the Injen intake. I pulled water into it and soaked the filter and MAF. I just reverted to a stock setup. A CAI is not worth a CEL to me. You lose maybe 5hp out of it which can be almost completely negated with a good filter on the stock setup.
