Pacesetter fitiment Q

Happy Holidays!

I got a few bucks for Christmas and decided now would be the time to snag a header for the Balt. I didn't really want to spend so I went with the pacesetter shorty. Here's the description.... " PACESETTER HEADERS FOR CARS, BLACK -- 1.5 Inch Mandrel Bent Tubing, Black Painted Finish, Flanged 3 Inch Collector, Hook-Ups For Smog & Engine Management Sensors, Comes With Header Extension To Connect To Stock System, Fabrication May Be Required, Headers Come With Hardware, Gaskets And Illustrated Instructions And Are Backed By A Three-Year Manufacturer's Warranty, Header Bolts Not Included...."
Question is, will it bolt up to my stock DP? Says "comes with header extension to connect to stock system" so I would assume so, but Ive heard the pacesetters require welding. If it will not bolt up, what Downpipe should I get that it will bolt to?

You will need to buy a down pipe from exhaustdepot.com or get your stock dp fabricated to accept the pacesetter header.

yeh I was looking at the "XTC Stainless Steel DownPipe" from cobalt addiction. It has the 3" fitting so I guess it would bolt right up. I know the rest of it will bolt up to my stock exhaust. I plan on getting the one with the cat in it because I don't want any trouble with my emissions. After the downpipe/ header, Id like to get the Megan exhaust system to finish it off, then she gets staged this spring.

The xtc dp won't fit unless cobalt-addiction modifies it for you to fit the pacesetter header. The flange on the xtc dp has a 3bolt flange and the pacesetter header has a 2bolt flange.

Damn it, that was the most affordable one too. I'll have to ask if they could modify it for me then. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one who has asked.

i thought the pacesetter header was a mid-length header.. but you def. need to get a downpipe for it... unless they make a shorty header that we dont no about that will bolt right up to the dp. (doubt it though).

1. ALL Pacesetter exhaust have a "slip joint" connection. Pacesetter header kits come with a down pipe which slips over the stock exhaust. It does not per say "bolt up" with bolts....

Also we have these in stock and price match, so why not PM us if you would like one?

Well I already bought the header off Ebay but I will certainly keep you guys in mind for the downpipe! So this slip joint will make a good connection though yes?? Thanks guys!

Did a little research, it appears that my options are High temp RTV sealant or some kind of clamps. I cant imagine clamps being able to bend the metal, and sine I plan on doing the full exhaust wouldnt want to make it harder on myself. I guess i will have to use RTV sealant, unless anyone knows a better choice. Keep in mind although it will be temporary, I dont know exactly when Im getting my down pipe.
