Pacesetter header w/ downpipe installed!! (PICS!!)

Well let me just say this setup looks amazing on the car. I have more pics of the header which I will get up as soon as the guy who made my exhaust emails me them. Definitely feel a difference in power in the upper rpms. Here's a pic of the downpipe with no cat. It has a bigger resonator instead and it sounds great!! No raspyness at all. Sounds really deep and throaty. It's very quiet on start up and when your driving around town. But when you get on it..it sounds like ligthning!!

This is the downpipe connected to the header before we bolted everything up.

Hope to have the other pics up in a few days.
This guy is making for our cars
-Downpipe to fit stock exhaust= undecided
-Downpipe compatible with the pacesetter header like mine= undecided
-Full catback system= $400
Everything will be cheaper than most brand name products.

This guy does a great job and is very professional and took his time to make sure everything was secure and no leaks. Here is his website to the downpipe http://www.exhaustdepot.net/doforpahe.html

Yes it will bolt directly up to the pacesetter header. He can weld you a cat on the downpipe if you would like

Well to have the downpipe made with no cat and have it installed alonog with the header it cost me 250. I think he said he would sell the downpipe for like 215-225. I'm not for sure though.

He also used a flex instead of using the balljoint setup that came with the pacesetter cause the ballpoint connections suck.

Looking at it more, the only thing I dislike is the location of the O2 sensor. On the bottom of the downpipe is nto a good spot.

I welded that sensor on the car its self so I did not have space for my drill. It is however not on the bottom of the downpipe. having it on the actual bottom of the DP will cause premature failure do to moisture. Also this setup has a CEL fix on it to prevent the no cat code from triggering so its not even in the exhaust stream.

Im working on a different placement soon.

Atleast my placement is better than pace setters. What where they thinking?

I have to work on making a cat version. The initial problem I had was that the pace setter header sits alot further back than the OEM setup so there is less piping to instal a cat. If you notice look where the 02 sensor sits. If i put a cat where the resonator sits then you will have to somehow extend your wires for your sensor so that it sits behind the cat. Right now if i put the cat in there, your o2 will sit in front of the cat which will trigger a cel. Or maybe ill just do a cel fix on this setup too.

Ok, thanks for the explanation. ITs nice to know the reason behind it. I have heard the same thing, that any position between 3 and 9 o'clock can lower the life of the O2 sensor. Otherwise the pipe looks great.

If someone could build the header and downpipe and sell it for $400 then they would make a bundle. As of now the headers are overpriced in my opinion.

so what did you do with the ball joint then???

if you make that downpipe with a cat and sized for the pacesetter header, i will definately buy that. i dont know if i wanna go catless though.

hey you dont hear any strange ticking sound coming from the header do you..lol

may be the header expanding/retracting (Is that the word?) if that's the case it's normal, especially now that it's getting cold out... that header goes from freezing cold to burning hot, and then when you stop the car goes back to freezing cold
