Pacesetter Header w/ XTC Downpipe?

I am looking to get both of these parts, but have been reading both on here and on vendor sites that the Pacesetter has some sort of 3" extension that has to be welded right before the stock cat and that a piece of the stock piping gets cut there as well. Is this true? Does this mean that the Pacesetter header won't work the XTC Downpipe or that it just has to be modified? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

that's an issue with every downpipe that is made so far. they installed the flex pipe on the very end. i would presonally just have the local welding shop make you a downpipe, if you want the pacesetter header

heres what you do wait until xtc releases their header and buy the combination. if you dont want to wait you can always get the gmpp manifold and the xtc downpipe.

I belive the two parts you are refering to have different ways of bolting up. The pacesetter uses a ball and socket type collector not a flange and gasket.

yeah.... you could always have an exhaust place cut off that part and weld a flange for the ss on there so it would match up to the d.p.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I may go with ZZP's header and downpipe package deal now that it has been solved. Plus I know there wont be any fitment issues between them.

That's what I had heard, but another guy here on the forum said that they re-designed it and fits well now and that he would recommend it. So I'm a little hesitant, plus if I go with the XTC DP I want to be able to take advantage of that group buy price...times running out lol.

I"m working on the header thing with him.... but not til after the 9th show.... Yeah that ZZP header sucked *****... I did hear they redesigned it... but in my opinion it wasn't that good... the collecoter sucked... the primaries were half blocked by the flange and it just wasn't finished tubes were uneven and didn't come together smoothly.... but it you could clean it up yourself... its not a bad deal.

So do you recommend the ZZP header or not? Just a little confused. I think I'm leaning more towards ZZP's header and downpipe though.

You convinced me...I took advantage of the group buy price and ordered the XTC Downpipe. Now just got decide on ZZP's header or Pacesetter's. What do you think about Pacesetter?

pacesetter from my experience usually show good gains... but the fitment with them is a bit of a bitch... if you can get an exhaust shop to weld on a flange to match the DP go with it... should be impressed..
