I cant remember but I have an 06 cobalt and need another ecu, is it the 05 or the 07 that matches my ecu? I know one of those years make ur gas gauge read backwards.

05 matches iirc. I thought in 07 things were changed slightly

 

ahhh im so ******* confused someone sell me an 06 ecu lol

 

the 07 is supposed to have a different operating system and proccesor and isent supposed to work in 05 06 I do not know 100% for sure though

if you just swap an 05 pcm into an 06 car or an 06 pcm into an 05 car the fuel guage will read backwards how you fix that it is you take your pcm to the dealer and have the correct vin and software package for your car flashed on it so the fuel guage reads correctly

 

06 down is 16bit
07 is 32bit super nintendo status

 

ok so i just need to get a 06 to avoid any problem lol

 

reguardless if its 05 or 06 you will still need to get your vin and such flashed on the new pcm if not you will have to license your car in hpt again

 

whats gm charge to flash a pcm to ur car?
