Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum. I was loooking into getting a DSM a while back til i stumbled upon this Cobalt SS/SC, which might be a better investment.

Anyway, I was just wondering what kind of numbers could I expect from stock internals. Is 400hp pushing it? also, has anyone swapped the sc for a turbo? Thanks in advance for the replies.

 

if you stick with the supercharger your basically going to max out just under 300whp. Anything more and your piston #4 will fry. But people have started going turbo and making pretty good power with it. Not much has been said about reliability though... hope that helps

 

with a 2.7 pully and a 75 shot i was pulling (very slowly) on my buddies EVO VIII with a white rabbit turbo pushing 320whp (if i remember correctly) this was from a roll though. the major perk to a SS/SC is the ride, and gas milage DSM's break alot (trust me i know) theres a saying in the DSM world.... nop sorry bud...was stated somewhere that max power on the ss/sc is 330ish hp...might be wheel no sure,but 330ish is where the motor will go boom on piston 4..best bet would be swap the supercharger for a 20g and build internals,and ull put of 330whp if not more,with almost no lag

 

but wait, what should we change out in the internals to increase the 300fwhp limit? like new pistons or what?
