Please help... one more time....

So I got my stage II kit put in before and it seemed like something wasn't right. I was under the impression that my rev limit would be increased to 7k and it seems like it can "chug" a little bit shifting, at least compared to what it used to. When I took it in, I took the sheet with the red and green lines or whatever and told them to take a look at it. I went back to the dealership today and the mechanic said that he tried to find those numbers and did not find it with GM. I am not very mechanically inclined so I had a hard time trying to tell him what was wrong. What should I do?

Go To A Different Dealer. If Your Car Isn't Going To 7000 They Fucked Something Up. Or Didn't Do The Stage Two Reflash

This dealership really wants to help fix the problem but I don't know how to tell them that they didn't do it right. The head tech guy said that he got the latest update.

Tell them your ECU Reflash was not done properly ( I dont know how they can screw it up but they probably didnt do it at all). Tell them your Reflash that came with your stage 2 kit was supposed to raise your rev limiter to 7000 and it didnt. Thats all you gotta say. Warn them that without that reflash you can harm your engine if driven exessivley.

GM no longer has the Stage 2 rev limit bumped up to 7000, they came out with a revised flash where the rev limit is back at stock, its been this way for a few months

Hmmm so the "chugging" I get when driving is not related?

This is really weird that GM can't get their act together so this doesn't have to be done.

Are you even sure they reflashed your computer from the beginning? It might be chugging cause you have bigger injectors in that are spraying much more than they need to be cause of the higher duty cycle. If they reflashed your PCM, then your duty cycle would be lowered so you can idle and cruise at lower speeds better and not have to be in boost to have a decent ride.

Also, if I were you, I'd invest in an Wideband unit...this might save you alot of headaches and curiousities in the future about how your car is running.

Yeah I tried to tell them that things should be different but it was the first one they have ever done and they said they got the latest update from GM.

They probably gave you the reflash for the STOCK update. Take your receipt and take your car to another GM dealership that is willing to try again. The reason I say take your receipt is cause you paid for the GM stage kit and you need to show proof so they don't try and charge you or deny you a reflash that is required. Explain the situation as calm as possible and hopefully they will do it again and things will work out.

Good luck.

the tech has to call technical assistance and give them your VIN number, and a number off of the instructions that come with the stage 2 kit. technical assistance uploads the reprogram to TIS. thats the only way you can reprogram for the stage 2. if they didnt call technical assistance, they didnt do it right.

neg. i got stage 2 last week and mine is 7k. they obviously didnt do the reflash. and its probobly "chugging" because it isnt tuned for the 42's and the 3" pulley.
