Popped dipstick, engine covered in oil!
Dab nab it!
My belt was squeaking a little bit and so I popped the hood. To my surprise there was oil all over the passenger side of the engine bay! I freaked out for a bit looking for holes in the engine block but then I realized the dipstick was just sitting their loose.
Did I hook up one of the three lines wrong that you disconnect to install the stage II kit, or was there just an idiot at the dealer that forgot to push the dipstick in all the way when the car was serviced?
I've seen turbo cars that would pop out their dipsticks after the crank case become pressurized (i.e catch cans) but I never thought a factory S/C car would have that problem. I'm only running 12 PSI too! Any suggestions or past experiences?
Thanks!

..sorry no pics. I grabbed a stack of napkins and wipped off everything I could get to. I'll pick up a bottle of parts cleaner on the way home and try and clean of the front of the engine.
By the way guys, this is the same dealer that forgot to screw back on the radiator fill tight and I lost most of my radiator fluid until the idiot light popped on. I had to stop at the first gas station I could find and hurry and add some generic stuff. They just flushed the system and filled it back up with Dexatron on Friday, I wonder if they checked the oil too and left the dip stick loose?
What you think?

yeah, it might just have been forgoten and didnt get put back in. i run close to 17 psi and ive never had a problem. about the oil i would go to pep boys or autozone or a local auto store and get some engine degreaser, take it to a power wash. lather the entire engine with the degreaser, make sure u keep the engine running and then power wash the degreaser off the engine. If it happens again, you can pinch the tube just a little, not to much or it wount seal. but just enuff to create more brip on the washer

happen to me twice. U can try taking into the dealership and have them check, the PCV system, oil filter as well as the intake. There's too much crankcase pressure and Im still not certain why it happens but after they replaced the "intake manifold" is hasnt done it since.

Yea its a strange because I did not have this problem until the dealer replace my head. After the head was replaced it happened all the time. After a few weeks it just stopped.

I happened! I've been driving manual for for 9 years and then back in April I was raacing and tried to go into 3rd and it just would not engage so I RAMED it into what I thought was third gear WRONG it was first. The engine must have hit like 10k rpms! Well it still drove and idled smooth, but it had no power and the exhaust sounded just like a WRX with a turbo back. Three Chevy dealers told me "ahh yea theres nothing wrong that we can." So I took the valve cover off just to see if anything broke and there were 3 shattered lifters, 3 roller rockers layin in the head and the cam and head were galged where one of the rockers was caught between the cam and head.

So it does happen, if it happens again I'll have the dealer check her out with some suggestions.
I could always install a switch valve off a manifold line that flips open with boost and a catch can. I'll reserect this thread if something happens again.
Thanks Guys!
