if you are worried about car value why are you thinking about mods?

All I am saying our car value sucks...this does not mean to offend anybody. While I've seen too many guys buy our kinds of car mod them then get rid of them then sell them. I don't get why they buy our kinds of car in the first place n not keep them ? Our kinds of car is VERY RELIABLE n they just don't get that. They mostly likely go for imports or get a V8.

 

Yelcal just ignore them, some of these dont dont realize that we all dont have jobs making 80k a year, when making parts for these cars u have to remember most the people that own these car are guys that are younger and just starting out as a young adult and have alot of bills to pay so ur parts have to be affordable for the mass market.

 

The fact that the value tanked so quickly on these cars is a good thing if you bought used. Let someone else take the depreciation hit and have a fun car for cheap.

 

Excactly! That's what I am talking about, if somebody buy our kinds of car to keep then that will make sense. But if they buy their mods for their car then sell mods n their car. That wouldn't make sense n it has happened alot.

 

modding any car at any time will make them worth a lot less. if you dont want to lose money this is the wrong hobby for you.
that being said... these mods are ridiculously cheap. go to the 350z gusy and tell them you found something that will give you 80hp and 100tq for 500 bucks and they will probably drop dead in front of you.
(talking about a tune for the tc cars)

bmw people spend thousands of dollars on mods to gain a few hp here and there
its all relative.
and yes 600 bucks for a cooling product to help the sc cars run better/safer/longer is a killer deal

I agree id pay 600 bucks for this mod IF it works on the m62 and provides good gains, but I can understand someone thinking 800 is too high, I personally considered the 650 bucks for the griffin way too much and then zzp came out with the stealth for 400 and now we have this intake manifold coming and I think zzp knows it has to be a fair price for it to sell unless its meant for guys with tvs only, then it may cost a bit more since tho guys prolly have more money to spend then ur normal m62 bolt on guys.

 

Looks like an after cooler. Depending on price I may get one for the redline

 

$600 is reasonable, I can do that. $800 is too much of what they are asking for if they decided with that price.

you don't mod a car because of book value you mod it to go fast and I don't have a business whippersnapper if you don't like bluntness then don't post in my threads

the system was designed around gmstg2 at most the problem after that is coolant capacity you fix that the system will handle it

no don't ignore them I don't have a job making 80k a year either and I have bills and a kid but its a fact a lot of companies employies used to come on here just to see how well the markert would be for these cars but the few that would spend the money was out weighed by the cheap asses so therefore we suffer

it boils down to this if you want it youll pay for it even if it is unreasonable to you

Want to hear what powell has to say since he helped develop all current cooling mods available from GM for our cars, + Griffens which he got screwed out of

 

I don't see this fitting onto an Ecotec without oil filter housing mods (maybe it just fits over, but without normal access/servicing) and an alternator relocation.

Results will be very interesting, I hope. :-)

 

its really not that hard to relocate oil filter servicing. someone actually offered an alternative here years ago. Only OGs will remember. Was quite simple concept, never caught on though.

 

Relocate the filter for access is easy, but removing the actual housing from the block is a different story...

 

you dont have to remove it from the block with the way this member had created. lms if i can find it

yes, that is the same as the link i posted. seems to be a slight amount of work but easily doable

 

 

wtf do you mean a different story your making this out like its going to take some special machining processs it isent hard all you need is a saws all to cut it off then you can weld your -10 bungs to the block and plug the bypass hole and done how do you think gm did it and not to mention they say to remove the housing with a saws all and as for manifold fitment id bet your way off the mark you have to remember for this to work for 95% of the people out there it has to be plug and play or they wont buy it

 

no one wants to have to remove an oil filter housing, zzp knows this and wouldnt put out an item that very few will buy if the engine has to be modded to fit.
