powell tow hooks

ok so i have a question regarding these. i am looking to start tracking my car and need/want to get tow hooks. the question i have is how many of u guys that r using these have actually had to use them? meaning actually have ur car towed. my main concern is i heard there r some out there that r purely cosmetic and will rip right off. heard a lot about these and just wanna make sure thats not the case. also has anyone installed these with the zzp heat exchanger, does it fit? thanks in advance everyone!

i have the zzp h/e and tow hook if you put it directly in the middle itll fit if you put it to the side like i did i couldnt use the spacer so it almost hits the top piece of the bumper. iv seen pics of ppl actually using these there bolted to the frame i dont see why they wouldnt work.

I'll let the guys that have them confirm this, but the Powell tow hooks are tested and are a functional piece and not just for aesthetics.

As for installing the hook with a zzp heat exchanger, i'm not sure if you will run into any clearance issues when bolting it to the crash bar. I would say that would depend on how far your heat exchanger is set back on the crash bar.

well i can post pics of what im talking about and no the spacer plate doesnt need to be used. but its used to clear the bumper but mine barly touches it so i didnt mind. my zzp h/e upper bolts bolted in the same place i wanted the tow hook since the crash bar is curved and not straight thats why i said it will fit just fine in the center of the bumper but if you put it to the side since the crash bar curves you will run into issues.

as you can see theres not enough room for the spacer so i just used it without. only way you could use it is where i have the bolt use the back hole in the spacer and you would have to trim a small piece from your bumper

if the spacer isn't neccessary then i would just run that and not worry about trimming anything

Just use the spacer and install it in the middle

And yes these do still work after a 60+ mph crash

Check if your track has color requirements. Red works anywhere, some tracks don't have a requirement, some will also accept yellow, some just require that it NOT be certain colors that are hard to see.
