I did mine myself, just rent a pulley puller from a shop and go to the dealer and get them to tune it for about a $100.

What about warranty...its a Gm product. If they see its a GM product there not gonna say anything. They never have said anything to me and the only thing GM on my car is my exhaust.

^Exactly why I had the dealer do it as well.

Also, I paid $400 for the install.

The dealer already had it written up for just $200, based on what I told him I thought other dealers were charging.

But I found out that I was wrong, and so I told him to charge me $400 (the going rate for St. 2 install where I live).

Why dont you ask the dealer, if another mechanic or car shop installs it for you will you lose your warranty. I didnt lose mine, but I guess the 4 dealers around here that I take my car to dont care.

just do the install yourself....I did, it's easy, and free, plus anyone with HPtuners can either S2 flash you, or custom tune it

I already had it installed at a dealer a few months ago.

Got it done there because I wanted it fully covered by Manufacturers Warranty.

you paid way to much for the install. I did it in 3 hours back in 05, without the aid of a "how to" from the site(the site was still small), so divide 3 hours by your cost, and that was your labor charge....Most place are 80-95 bucks an hour as far as I know, so that should tell you by how much they took you for

Well first off, I told the dealer that someone said other dealers were charging $200.

So reluctantly, that's what he wrote the bill for when I picked it up.

In the meantime though, I had found out that this info was wrong. Dealers in my area are all charging $400. And seeing how my dealer was going on my word, to be fair I let him charge me the $400.

Secondly, I'm glad you did it in 3 hrs. But as a customer, you pay what the dealer says the job will cost.

So I did. And if you go by the $95/hr figure, then I "overpaid" by $115.

No biggie ..
