as long as it is the gm kit and they do the flash it does not void any warrenty. regardless of who installs it


^^ worked as a gm technician for 2 years

Yes and No.

You install it ... and they will cover any problems contained within the unit itself.

Have the dealer install it ... and the unit plus everything that was involved in the installation process is covered.

I installed my own , the warranty goes like this ....
If GM installs the kit they cover the parts in the kit for the remainder of the new car bumper to bumper warranty 36/36000.
If YOU install the kit GM will only cover the parts in the kit for 12/12000 miles .

^Yup (+ the dealer warranties ALL the work involved when installing the unit).

Problems from what the dealer might consider "improper installation by customer" are not covered.
