I was at a stop sign and did a launch and went to about 80mph. The car just turned off. So i coasted to the next stop sign and tried to start the car. It acted like it wanted to start but just shook really bad I would die. After like five minutes it started an has been fine ever since.

Any comments on what could have caused this.

 

i had my car shake and shut off when i was workin with my fuel filter like that, u should check everything that deals with ur fuel filter and fuel pump

 

Limp mode....

 

I think it was also limp mode (safty mode)

 

What causes it to go into limp mode?

did you over rev it when you launched it or was it really hot out or anything.. hit the rev limiter? like everyone is saying its limp mode it happen to me only once sofar scared the **** out of me. though i blew the car up but mine never shut off just ran like ass until i let it sit for 10 mins.

 

Yeah mine shut off too when I hit the rev limit in first real hard...wouldn't start for 10 minutes. I almost **** my pants.

 

Driving like a "dick" as the cops around here like to say.

 

Should be called "oh *****!" mode usually it can happen on a cool day (fat air) when I'm spankin' Porshes.. with a high rpm 3-4 speed shift where the air in rush is more than it's expecting and will call for the "oh *****" something's wrong "all stop" command.

About 3 min's later with key off, which feels like an hour and Porche long gone, she'll be happy once again..
