problem with timing

i went to get my car retuned after adding a cobra heat exchanger and methanol and i can only hit 12 degree it i try to go any higher i get crazy amount of knock. my a/f is 10.5. when i had 20 degrees of timing on 20 lbs. of boost there was a ticking noise coming from my motor? i have recently done a compression test and all cylinders were with in 20%.
what could be wrong i had my friend who tunes my car save the data so i can upload it if someone want to try and help me whats wrong

Are you 100% sure you have good gas? My wife put 89 in the car the other day and when I logged it the timing would go to 14-15 and start knocking around 3500. Small town gas stations are horrible up here for "accidentally" putting the wrong octane in the tank.

within 20%? the RnR limit is 13% on the high side.

i personally think the damage is done.

er yea, what are the cylinder readings for each? Also did any of them go "to" within 20% of a cylinder and then level off or were off more and went to 20%?

will help a great deal
