megasquirt is wonderful.. I am very familar with it. I used it on my turbo 2200 cavalier, and then again on a high compression 2.4 twin cam z24 with nitrous. i was very pleased with it for daily driving and how easy it really is. the MS website throws alot of info at you, but its good to learn every last thing on it.

With Megasquirt do you have to run some of their sensors or is it compatible with the stock sensors (ie crank postion).

It can be programmed to work with nearly anything.....except drive by wire.

and variable valve timign.. but we dont have to worry about that.

honestly i don't know what type of ign sig is run on the LSJ, i've "heard" that its like a 52 trigger wheel? but i'm not sure. Most people convert to EDIS, because its easily modified and can work with almost anything. I however used the only style GM DIS, because ms is able to use that.

now that i think about it, the trigger wheel might be the only problem with this, unless you swap to EDIS

CKP is 60-2 with a variable reluctance sensor I think. I think the LE5 uses the same but with a hall effect sensor.

Way better off to just run a fake 3 bar tune with the stock PCM in speed density since he would have to keep the stock PCM connected anyway.

lol yeah probably, with the ability to use HPT i'd consider that over MS, just because of the hassle thats going to be with the ign set-up.

although you could use Megasquirt as an injector driver or secondary injector controll and HPT for ign timing

or just bit the bullet and get an a different standalone that will work with less work lol if there is such thing

djt81185 is talking with Hydra people and they are interested in developing a plug and play application for us.

We're also considering an SAFC.

And Syp, I'd LOVE to hear your amazing technical knowledge on what makes tuning a twincharged car sooo much more complicated. Air is air buddy, it doesn't matter how it gets in there.

lol, well if your considering a safc, i take it you don't want this to last long j/k

he's probably talking about the torque curve of a twin charge system, as it is quite different than a s/c set-up or turbo set-up. but you should be able to manage that.

That's what all the people that have no experience with them say. You'd be amazed with how well they work, especially for a daily driver.
