pulley puller rental? Buffalo NY

Ive seen people say that they have rented a puller from places for pulley swaps . My local GM dealer has no problem with me helping them to do the stg1 to stg2 upgrade , but they dont have a puller . They do have a press , but by the looks of the press i would be a bitch to press the stg2 hub on. Does GM have a special puller the dealer could buy (they couldnt find anything when looking for one) or do some parts places rent them out . I dont plann on ever needing the puller again so buying it would be a big waste . I'm in the buffalo NY area, so if anyone local has one , or any ideas please let me know THX, Bill

I used a press for my stage 2, use a socket on the snout to press the supercharger out of the pulley, and press on the new hub with a bolt in the snout with washers.

I kinda figured that pressing the stock pulley off wouldnt be too bad , its just installing the stg 2 hub thats got me puzzled . I could see using a blot and washers to press the hub on , but how did you stop the supercharger from spinning? I might be alittle noobish on this because this would be mine and the dealerships first pulley swap . The only other thing ive ever helped my father with was pulling his harmonic balancer on his chevelle. I just dorve up the other day and grabbed his HB/puller kit , to see if it would help me out in anyway , but after standing in my garage for a half hour i realized it wouldn't get the job done . Thanks for the reply .

if your not dead set on doing this yourself West-Herr chevrolet has performed a few Stage 2 upgrades, so Im assuming they have a pulley puller.....If you really want to do it yourself try contacting one of the local speed shops(Im pretty sure Innovative Tuning has a puller, perhaps P and J speedshop as they deal alot with SC cobras)

Thx for the info 05 orange . My local dealer is going to do it along with me , so maybe they can call and borrow the tool, they said that they can usually borrow from other dealers without issue . THX
