pulley question

alright. will a 3.15" pulley be fine on the stock injectors and tune?? i'm thinking about getting in on the billet flow sale and spending the $75 for a pulley and hub but they don't make a stock size.

I've currently got a group buy going for a pulley system for 81.00 w/free shipping and you can have ANY size you want.

Here's the thread...

alot of people have gotten away with as small as 3.0 on stock injectors and stock tune, but I wouldnt recommend it. You should get 42#s and a tune.

did the 3" on stock tune for a bit. pulled good. 13.80@102
but then I went stage 1 and completed the transition.
no damage done, some will say I was lucky.

let me put it to you this way. "stonny" down i south florida has a stage 2 pulley on stock injectors and tune and he has 154% Injector duty cycle. it runs hard as **** for such little work done to it though

well thats a 3", not a 3.15". it doesn't seem like a lot for buts halfway between stock and stage2. maybe i'll just get the 3.3" pulley and hub for now and just wait till i get some more money and get the pulley injectors and tune

On a stock tune the car will bleed boost to 12.5 PSI I believe. With that in mind, you should be fine with a 3.15" pulley. The injectors may run high IDC before boost bleeds off but you will reach higher boost numbers sooner in the RPM band giving you more mid range HP and TQ.

Yes, because you dont reach 12.5 automatically, it takes a couple thousand rpms..

So instead of being at like 7 at 4000, with a smaller pulley youll be closer to 9 or so, but still only reach the 12.5 mark.

Not with a 3.15. I was pushing 15 with a 2.9.

To be honest the stock stock setup and the Stage 2 setup is working the injectors pretty hard. A 3.15 with stock tune will see pretty high IDC.

GM Stage 2 is 3.06

Not only will this kill your gas mileage, but pulling the boost bypass really isn't a great idea. Having air running through the SC at all times just creates more heat and wear on the SC. Also, on stock injectors you really don't want to be hitting 14~14.5 PSI or you will be running some insane IDCs.

kinda old post but just saw it again. I have the boost bypass on stock tune with stg 2 pulley, i/h/dp and my gas mileage hasnt dropped one bit.

Yesterday I finally got the full stg 2 setup. next is a 2.8 and a minor tune.
