Pulley Question

Say I wanted to get a 2.80" Pulley for "my cobalt". This place says that you need to buy their "pulley puller" so you don't break the pulley. The only problem is...THE THING IS $156!!! Would there be some other (safe) way of getting the pulley off?

If you go to a shop they would be able to do the swap for you.
