2.9" is suicide. its not a matter of "if" something will break, its a matter of how soon it will break
3.1" is relatively safe. any more than that and you really are pushing your luck. you also need to run 1 heat range colder spark plugs with any pulley smaller than stock.

While 2.9 runs a little lean, I ran with my old Redline installed for a couple of months without any problems. You'd definitely want to get a tune and larger injectors especially if you have any other intake/exhaust work that's freeing up the air. Personally I LOVED my billetflow pullies. I had one pulley go bad on me after about 9 months and called Billetflow and they replaced it free of charge no questions asked. I think all I paid for was return shipping. I had a blue pulley that matched my Blue Saturn and it really looked great. http://www.billetflow.com/supercharger_pulleys.htm

The only thing that kills these cars is heat. I have methanol injection, cobra heat exchanger, the dual pass, and a kinda sorta small other secret to keep my intake temps really cool. I am getting ready to drop my pulley size down to like a 2.5" and get my blower ported and polished, to also drop intake temps, and new high performance blower bearings. My little car SCREAMS!!!!! and I haven't even been able to tune my car yet, going to order the program in a short while and learn to do it myself. Then to the dyno for my close to 400whp pulls!

It will be a gift of god to see over 300whp unless you have nitrous, and goodluck with that 2.5, i hope you have or plan on pistons in the future.
